Link didn’t work for me but if it’s the image I saw of him the other day for his theatrical appearance...it shouldn’t see the light of day

I thought pickachu looked a little funny in his movie, but he looks magnificent compared to sonic lol

I watched Sony's animated Spiderman earlier this week. I liked it more than the Marvel Spiderman movie, which was loaded with one too many clichés. Kingpin is a pretty badbutt villain.

I'm watching Captain Marvel tomorrow, which I'm super excited about.

Speaking of Interstellar, that movie is getting a sequel finally. One of the best pure sci fi movies in the past 20 years imo.

I really loved the soundtrack for that movie.

It is not possible it is necessary. One of the best 4-5 minutes in film ever in my opinion.

Actually I was pretty hyped about the movie. I am still, but the recent buzz around it spoiled the fun for me. I thought people were excited for the movie. Suddenly it's another theater of some sjw-white male wars...

White males have been complaining about Carol Danvers for the past 9 months on YouTube for the same reason they complained about the Rogue One lady.  They think she's stale.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. If she's peppy she's annoying and if she's not peppy she's also annoying. There's no point trying to please a select group of people that have already made it up in their mind to be miserable.

I'll give an honest opinion but I'm assuming it will be a solid Marvel movie.

edit: and FYI, I was very open in saying that I thought The Last Jedi was a poorly made movie.

Ooh, looking forward to it. It had some amazing scenes that kept you at the edge of your seat. Even if not all the characters got enough spotlight, the sheer emotional intensity was well worth it.

Yeah and? It's the movie I'm interested in, not some political bs that has builded up around it. Ofc I might still get annoyed by things like Black Panthers "our poor black brothers and sisters are suffering" in-betweeners, but guess that's the sign of the times we live in...

Like discrediting John Wayne cus some smartass uncovered a supposedly racist interview he made in the 70s. Yeah, like, let's discard his whole artistic legacy... sigh, politics everywhere.

First Man - 8/10

Okay but a bit drawn out, could have trimmed some of the personal and family aspects. Lacked the pace and drive of Apollo 13 albeit the space flight sequences were good once they got going. Serves to illustrate the gulf between the reality of space flight, even to this day and the more fanciful scifi. Liked the comment Armstrong's missus passed to the head honcho at NASA, bunch of boys playing with balsa wood models.

Only today I realized that Captain Marvel is released on Women's Day. So Marvel played that "feminist" game after all.

However, it's hard to learn if the movie is actually good or not. The Internet is full of feminist and anti-feminist flame war, trolls and bot spam. I mean, people take it way too seriously for the movie about flying chick that shoots laz0rs at aliens.

Okay? They released a movie about a female superhero on a day that commemorates women's achievements. Why, in your opinion, is this a bad thing?

I saw the movie this afternoon. There was no manhating in it. Don't want to give any spoilers but as you could see from the trailer it's a space adventure type movie. Overall I would give it probably a 6 or 7 out of 10. I didn't like it as much as Wonder Woman but there was nothing horribly wrong with it.

The people that were already worked up over nothing will go to the theater and dislike the movie because they've already decided they will dislike the movie. This is known as "cognitive preloading".

not when the principal actor is openly promoting identity politics, man hating and racism. Saying that a movie should not be criticized if you are of a specific skin of color and gender is racism, period. Looks like people with cognitive preloading were right after all, isn't it?

Honestly, I haven't really read anything about what real life actors are talking about. I just went to the theater and watched the movie.

And considering how much trolling and sexism the cast has had to listen to, maybe there's a reason they're speaking strongly.

The anti-white racism? is not like she says anything different from what you usually say, maybe thats the reason you're not triggered?

Her argument is that 67% (or whatever she said) of critics were white males and that is not representative about the America diversity.

Well, nobody is handcuffing black people from writing reviews:

The opinions of about 3,000 critics — a.k.a. the “Approved Tomatometer Critics” who have met a series of criteria set by Rotten Tomatoes — are included in the site’s scores, though not every critic reviews every film, so any given score is more typically derived from a few hundred critics, or even less. The scores don’t include just anyone who calls themselves a critic or has a movie blog; Rotten Tomatoes only aggregates critics who have been regularly publishing movie reviews with a reasonably widely read outlet for at least two years, and those critics must be “active,” meaning they've published at least one review in the last year. The site also deems a subset of critics to be “top critics” and calculates a separate score that only includes them.

LINK

She makes it sound like white males keep out minorities and women from writing their own opinions. But when you read the rules, you see that is about discipline, education, being constant and active. Nothing about skin color.

There is no reason. They're speaking, or actually she is speaking (Brie Larson) because it is trendy currently. Hollywood actors like to speak what is currently a point of interest rather then what they actually think.

A white previlaged woman speaks about white males in negative manner and that maybe they shouldn't watch movie X as it is not meant for them (which is funny in itself), alas generally movies are for everyone.

It is about her altitude, but as always, it will be blamed on white male toxicity...

Either way I think people are reading too much in it, but that is unfortunately the effect of the current white male smear campaign.

The default superhero in comics has - for the most part - been white men. That is just a fact. It doesn't mean white men are bad.

She even specifically said in that interview that she doesn't hate white men. The aim of the industry has been to represent a wider base of people. This is a positive goal that makes many white men around the world needlessly threatened.
