The entire movie is intentionally ridiculous.
You have to go into it with the right mindset.

My outlook on Sucker Punch just went up a lot. The explanation for all those random fantasy/sci-fi flicks in the trailer is that these girls that are trapped in an insane asylum/brothel are using their imaginations as a way to escape the daily horrors of their life as well as a tool to empower them to help them escape. I still don't know if they literally gain supernatural powers or if it's all psychological and the director takes us through their thoughts. It actually sounds like a really cool plot.

DG: Annie Hall is good, next try Manhattan.
Xerox: I agree about Jim Carrey. Lots of energy so much it is over the top. I only know one or two like that in real life and I find it very annoying from him. But The Truman Show was good, a different role from his usual type. Much like Stranger than Fiction is a different role for Will Ferrell.

Yes, ironically I like Jim Carey best in the roles where he's not really supposed to be funny. When he's playing funny, he usually ends up being annoying instead. Acting is good, overacting not so much.

I remember somebody talking about 'Moon' on here and I second that it was a very good movie. Some parts of it were hard to watch, but in a good way.

Just watched 11:14, that was so much fun It tells the seemingly random yet vitally connected story of a set of incidents that all converge one evening at 11:14pm. The story follows the chain of events of five different characters and five different storylines that all converge to tell the story of murder and deceit.
The storyline is totally nuts, fast paced and jumps from one impossible situation to the next.

Watched the Expendables a few days ago.
Got my money's worth and more. It was like watching one of those Rambos and Predators I grew up on, just with Jason Statham and the new guys put in for good measure. I had this nostalgic smile on all the time, and my head almost exploded when that scene with Stallone, Bruce Willis and Schwarzenegger came along.
Another source of endless entertainment was my girlfriend facepalming all the time, since I made her watch it with me.
Also
Quote: "You remember that time we were up in Bosnia? We took down them Serb bad boys? All our guys were gettin' chopped up all around us and...
there was blood everywhere... I never thought I was gonna make it out of there, and I know you didn't... I remember I got this bottle of this local sh*t they have over there. That Slivovitz... I think that's what it was called. And I ain't feelin' no pain now."
No wonder we lost the goddamn war, they had bloody Stallone drinking Sljivovica.

I love Sljivovica. I had a serbian friend and his family always used to smuggle it over on the plane in sprite bottles. Stuff was probably 50% methanol but damn it was good.

Yup. I'm a huge fan of Pixar, but Toy Story frankly wasn't that great a movie, and albeit second chapter was much better, it was still only half good. Third installment was amazing, however.

I'm highly skeptical about the Expendables. Heavy action movies like that have a tendency to either be awesome or mind-numbingly stupid. I think they're good as long as the movie doesn't take itself seriously. When the movie takes itself seriously, it turns sour.
