The John Wick movies only seem to get better whereas the Matrix movies started off great and went downhill.

Yeah, I'm more looking forward to next John Wick than the matrix. I liked first two but revolutions was the weakest link.

No, Finnish movies are suck. Yr movies look like better. Sorry, I, US movies. But I must buy a few of Russian movies, example of Harlamov 17 is a true story about legend ice hockey player, so US can't tell us another legend person, if he isn't American nation. I also want to buy Canadian 1972 ice Hockey movie tells true story. Some foreign movies! Then all US movies. I can't call foreign but Hollywood. Finland? They must film a Kalevala. They can't do for poor quality. Kalevala could 5 stars in the world. Kalevala is a mythical epic, and our "the Bible".

short video on the difficulty of creating cosmic horror movies. worth a watch, if you're heavily into the genre. the movies clips contained therein are from movies in the genre(i haven't watched them all, but "the void", "annihilation", both renditions of "the thing", and "the mist" i can all vouch as being fantastic movies of this type). "in the mouth of madness", while certainly an entertaining movie in the genre, i feel it lacks the quality that the writing and visuals of the subject matter itself demand.

"the cloverfield paradox" was one that i had previously eschewed, but i will give it a watch and report back later.

I thought it was so so. It is more of a psychological thriller than a horror.

Speaking of Cloverfield, 2008, THAT was how to do a movie with a first-person camera to help add suspense. Blair Witch did it earlier and it was soooo boring imo.

i'm a fan of both cloverfield and the blair witch project. the reason i eschewed the cloverfield paradox previously, was because it didn't appear to be paired with the original movie. now that i know what kind of movie it is(as per the link), i'm actually interested. not sure why they lumped it with the original movie, though. i saw a video on youtube that apparently explains the link between the 3 cloverfield movies, but i'm more interested in other things atm to watch it.

The Hobbit seems a very common film in the world?! No, I buy The Black Lighting is a Russian film, Enemy at the Gates, but US film, and then other Russian movies. In Finland I've hard getting Russian movies. In Finland you get a US, European and Asian movies.

Just watched Leon: The Professional.

I liked it, but jail-bait Natalie Portman played her role a little too well me thinks.

just got finished watching tcp. it was good at times, but it wasn't what i was expecting. barely touched on the cosmic horror genre, at all.

imo, you'd be better off watching "the endless". while it has humor like tcp, the overall vibe is much more serious, much more ominous, and more in line with cosmic horror than tcp. the scale might be reduced greatly, but it doesn't have the feel of a popcorn movie like the other did.
