Watched Predators.  It was predictable but fun to watch if you are looking for some B-movie goodness.

Just saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (or the Relics of Death as they are called in swedish) Part 1 and it was AMAZING.

It was the best movie so far and it was really, really dark and brutal. Right now I would give it 9/10 or 4.5/5 but I will do a full scale review later.

The movie is really different from the others in an excellent way.

It was better cause it was more accurate to the book. They should have made the films in two parts from the beginning.

They did stay very true to the overall plot of Book 7; however, at the same time, they had to cut out literally every major sub-plot, and they left out two very important events from the book, which kind of annoyed me.

I've never been a huge fan of the Harry Potter movies; ever since the third one they've been getting progressively more and more GRIMDARK as well as departing from many of the books' conventions, such as having characters wear everyday clothes instead of robes. They're good movies, but I don't feel that they necessarily represent the books very well a lot of the time.

There was also a BLATANT analogy of Voldemort supporters=Nazis in the movie that was rather infuriating; there were people in what were essentially WWII German army uniforms wearing red armbands screening people for their blood heritage. I mean, really? I can already see the analogy, I don't need to be beaten over the head with it. That part was just silly. :\

Yeah, it bothers me that when they are on Hogwarts in the later movies (or well... after the third one), they pretty much never wear their robes.

I really need to reread the book now cause I don't remember anything really important getting cut out, but then it was a while ago I read it. ^^

I am sure we will see a Harry Potter franchise remake in 10-20 years though. With super powerful effects...

You're gonna have like a Wii-Wand that you must use to mimic the wand-motions used by the characters or otherwise a shock is sent through the chair, electrocuting you while simultaneously blowing up your popcorn box.

They cut out the entire Kreacher and Dumbledore subplots, which were pretty crucial in the book, but they had to drop them for time constraints which is understandable.

The one thing I really wish they did in the movies was have the spells be laser beams; that would be excellent. The quasi-gunfights they have at the moment just aren't the same.

I have no idea how it slipped underneath my radar until now, but 'Stardust' was a very enjoyable fantasy movie with a very good compliment of actors. Michelle Pfieffer (actress that played Cat Woman in Batman Returns) dominates as usual.

I have to mention one of my favorite movies of the year so far and that is Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

I have read the comics and yes I am very aware that they changed a lot of subplots around, altered some of the main story and changed the ending.  It's still good though.  Michael Cera plays Scott Pilgrim's part very well hitting the confused nature of his situation perfectly.

Some of the comedy is dumb but it all fits great.  One of the things I like about how it was written is when they use a dumb one liner they sort of break away for a moment to acknowledge that yes, they just said something kinda stupid making it all the more funny.

That's not to say there weren't a few annoyances with it.  From the comic to the movie they really downplayed Ramona's character making her more of a bystander to the whole thing then an actual main character.  In the comic she has a magic inter-dimensional bag that she uses on multiple.  In the movie they sort of reference it once but if you've never read the comic then you'd most likely pass it off as whatever or not even notice it.

The music was pretty good.  Some of the songs were just goofy (those by Crash and the Boys especially) and some I would actually consider downloading to listen to later.

So if you havenb't seen this movie yet then I highly recommend renting it, downloading it, stealing it, or whatever.  Good movie.

I give it an easy 9/10

The myth by jackie chan. I watched it in its original voiceover, I think the dubbed version sucks. Then again I can understand most of it, so if you need the dubbed version, then go ahead. Its a really beautiful story. The fight scenes are quite good too.

Very well done. <IMO> If it's Chinese, Hollywood has nothing on these guys any more.

"Dragon Hunter" A low budget flick done in 09. I Liked it better than Eragon and Dragonheart.

the whole idea of a spell being a slowly flying projectile you can simply dodge is retarded. Instead of using that garbage, take a gun and blow Potter's brains out. He obviously won't dodge the bullet.

But it's Harry Potter. The next stupidest thing to Dragon Ball.

One of my favorite movies, period. I agree that it was absolutely great all-round; great humor, great action sequences, great characters. My favorites were Lucas Lee and Gideon; Gideon especially was just pulled off phenomenally well by the actor.

I do agree that Ramona probably came off the worst in the transition from comic to movie; in the comics she's one of the funniest characters and has a great deal of involvement. In the movie she's a bit of a superficial snow and we never really learn much about her, which was kind of disappointing. That and the lack of Envy's character arc (and the fact that they made her blonde ) were my only real issues with the movie.

Overall, it was absolutely great; if you know anything about video games at all, and since you're here I assume you do, you will most likely enjoy the movie.

Personally, I find the "not using guns" thing not so hard to overlook, as in the whole 7 years of Buffy the Vampire Slayer only two people ever had the sense to use a damn gun. I've been conditioned to ignore it at this point.
