What would be a good movie to make a criminological (i.d. what causes people to do crimes) analysis of?
I have some ideas. Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Tropa de elite (Elite Squad), American Gangste & Blow. No psychopaths please.

Tropa de elite is an excellent, excellent choice. Can't go wrong with that.

I did love 28 Days Later, but was quite disappointed with 28 Weeks Later. Mainly the kids pee'd me off big time. Ugh, I hate kids in movies. And the whole 'intelligent' zombie, eye color business was dumb. But the first part of the movie, when Robert Carlyle leaves his wife behind in the house and runs to the boat, was the best bit in the movie.
Another one I like, but its a real slow burner and is nothing original screenplay wise, but for some reason I like it - 'State of Emergency'. And I really loved 'Monsters'.
All of these I own, because I am such a sad prepper.
I also own The Thing and The Thing (2011), which kind of annoys me lol. The original Thing is just one of my favorites, so it was with a great deal of trepidation that I watched Thing (2011). It was disappointing in that the storyline was just a rehash from the original, which was a total waste of time. Even shooting scenes in the same room as the original, etc - the tooth scene in the rec room and then the flamethrower cutting out.
But its still watchable and I ended up with a crush on the redheaded Norwegian lol. But considering that The Thing (2011) was supposed to be the prequel, it told us absolutely nothing. Pointless really.

Saw Argo. Great suspene, amazing historically accurate visuals. As for the plot not being fully historically accurate - who gives a snow? It's a Hollywood movie. Not a documentary. And with the exception of rather non-existant character development aswell as a clever and fun but not particulary deep plot, it was a Hollywood movie I enjoyed a whole lot. 7 / 10. Faith in Ben Affleck as Batman restored.

Argo Spoiler
What I didnt like in Argo was the cliche of the plane taking off in the last second. That kind of BS (especially in a RL story) suddenly turns the movie into a formulatic, worn out blockbuster in my eyes. I mean, why does every frigging time bomb in every American movie has to be dismantled at 00:00:00:01? Why does every spaceship need to get in to the portal just before the blast? Cant they really see that's what people are expecting now, it's not exciting, it's not a twist or anything, it's just a horrible mood killer that reminds you that you are not watching an original idea but rather a tried-out, boring success recipe.

Yeah, that scene was completely unnescessary and just didn't make any sense whatsoever. It was not essential for adding supense - it killed it.

Beneath Hill 60 is a fascinating movie. Miners are employed into service in WW1 and secretly dig underneath enemy lines and cause the biggest explosion in history up to that point in time.

Oh god I hope they include the bit where the Persian privateer chick starts attacking her allies in order to flee, best bit of the battle of Salamis imho. Not that I expect the movie to have anything but a paper thin reference to real history.

@TSar, I very much doubt anything is going to be that authentic. Just enjoy it for the dragfest its going to be
