Keep up the good work, Salamandre.  It's annoying trying to lose weight.  My wife and I decided to change our lifestyles and began counting calories.  Since March, we've both lost 30 pounds and have been exercising regularly.

Oddly enough, I don't really miss a lot of the junk I used to consume.  Sure it would be nice to have a cheeseburger or ice cream but I like having a thinner waist and muscle tone.

True that, I also had a rich 30 kg weight-loss story back in the day. Sometimes you just have to get used to a new ration, gradually decreasing the amount of tasty snow. After that, it will turn out that you really don't need the discussed snow that much. Keep up the good work!

Im having trouble gaining weight, over the last 2 years of Uni my "norm" dropped from 75-80kg to 62kg, now it ebs between 65-67 (note the loss isn't just fat, but muscle and general mass as well).

My bone structure with broad shoulders and ribs is disigned naturally for a heavier build. So losing weight isn't necessarily a good thing (certainly wasnt intentional), but trending toward a healtier diet is (for instance not drank fizzy drinks in friggin years, I think I ate takeaway burgers 3-4times in the past 4 years even that only while drunk, tho we had a few bbqs).

Still, my arms are shriveled, my shoulder, back and legs are decently built, and my chest is starting to look great too. Personally you ought to attain a physique that matches your lifestyle

New home in Ayvalik, it has a secret garden completely secluded from the outside world, which made me say "this one's it."

I really like this town and I feel more optimistic about the future than I ever did for a long time. Hello Agean.

Seem's like a nice place. judging from the photo, that garden should use a fixer-upper.

The garden has some left overs from the restoration the guy who sold the house did, they'll be thrown out.  It can use some grass and I'll also put some wire on top of the stone walls and cover it with ivy so I dont see the house next to me when I look up. It is in bad shape. The street is filled with lovely historical houses but some are restored or rebuilt like mine, yet some are almost wrecked. (You can see in the front view that the house left to mine is in awful condition, the yellow one on the right is okay.) Another good thing is right in front of me across the street is a big schoolyard with huge pine trees, so it's roomy and refreshing, I'm not facing buildings but trees. And although the street is not a crowded one, within 6-7 minutes of walk, I'm in the town square and seaside.

If you skip away family houses as a kid, this is the first time I have a yard of my own and it's a very nice feeling for a hardcore city boy like me.

Some may be indifferent to, but I dislike houses nearby busy streets. I lived in such house for 15 years and in the mornings had to count thousands of cars passing by, with all the CO stuff, noise and discomfort. Last year I finally found a house far from, and is not comparable, heaven.

Exactly. I've been living on a street five minutes to the most popular square in a megapol such as Istanbul and it is car noises almost 24/7, only cools down a bit in the very early morning. It tires you, it stresses you, without you even noticing it. 5 hours sleep here equals like 8 hours sleep there. Silence is indeed golden.

Those are two parked cars. I havent moved in yet but that street has like two or three cars passing every five minutes, and that's in the busy hours. Since this place is touristic, it will even be less in the winter. Some are still having late holidays. Both the road and the houses are late 19th, early 20th century. No garages, tiny road, people park like that since there isnt much traffic.

Anyway, visit neighbors and ask them if any surprises. Last year I found an amazing house, visited it once and thought is okay, then some evening, I went back to see it in the sunset. Lurked nearby for 10 min and I had the nasty surprise to find the french TGV was passing by just at 10 meters in the backdoor, day and night. That is 92 decibels every 10 minutes.

Quite a nice home, but am I right in guessing you'll have to furnish it?

I also moved to a new home in the city, I actually got quite a fair price for it, but I had to furnish it anew, I bought most things from IKEA, because I'm a cheap guy.

But I do envy you, I'd love to have a little garden, it reminds me of my childhood.

@Neraus

I'll move the stuff from Istanbul, most of it will do just fine. I got a new fridge, washing machine, dish machine while at it since mine were real ancient, I'll also have to buy a table set for the garden but other than that, nothing too important. A bed for the guest room now that I have 3 rooms instead of 2 and a new cupboard.
