You fail biology forever.
Light absorption is physics mvass, not biology
But seriously, why is black skin where there's more sunlight? To heat them up more? Isn't it a bit illogical? I mean shouldn't people in cold areas be black to absorb more light (so better for body temperature) and those at the equator be white to reflect more light (so they don't overheat above normal body temperature)? Kinda like the opposite?

If you were in the arctic and had enough skin exposed to actually generate any heat dissipation via sunlight, the amount of warming would be far surpassed by the heat lost due to the frigid air.
Similar argument for warming effect in hot climates due to darker skin.

It's not actually about absorption; as pointed out, black absorbs better and white reflects better. It's really about penetration. Vitamin D is not produced in the top layer of skin, it's produced in the bottom layer of skin. In order for northern latitude humans to produce adequate Vitamin D, they have to have light skin so that the sunlight penetrates deeper into the skin so that more of it can be used to make Vitamin D.

That's an interesting idea. Also, protection from sunburns - people who lived further north didn't need it as much.

Exactly! Sunburns aren't caused by surface heat, they're caused by damage done to DNA by UV in the deep layers of skin. Black skin gets hotter, but the DNA is safe and that's all that matters.
