I think it might be the norm, e.g. the best NT nations usually don't have the best club teams. Spain hadn't won anything for a long time while their clubs were strong, same with England and for a long time Germany too. Italy is a bit different, their club teams seems to be strong while their NT is strong. The opposite for Holland, France and Portugal.. Now Spain and Germany have both, Italy had both in 06, but otherwise what countries are top fav. with their NT in EC / WC and have club teams that are top fav's. in CL?

In Italy, most class players in 2006 were still at Italian clubs, while the Dutch and French players generally went to play at bigger teams abroad. Most Spanish players of 2008-2014 were at Barca and Real, and the backbone of the 2014 German team was at Bayern.

Edit: And when Romania had a better team, like the mid to late 90's, there were many that went to play abroad, but Steaua always qualified for the CL.

If you can do better in the CL... just don't be like other teams that blow it on all fronts.

Norway : Hungary    0:1

Balls.
We might actually go to the Euro's and embarrass ourselves even further with such pitiful football.
Get your sh*t together Norway.

Norway seriously underestimated Hungary, but WHATEVER THE DEVIL POSSESSED THEM not to wake up and flatten Hungary after they got in a lucky shot? Hungary certainly didn't deserve to win, but neither did Norway.

Having Hungary in the Eurocup would be nice for a change

Ancelotti said:
I would like to manage Italy, but only for the 2030 World Cup. Because there is this 12-year pattern with Italy, that goes back to 1970. They only win every 12 years. So Italy will lose the final in 2018, and I will take charge for 2030. England could win in 2066.

NO. Hungarian football is not what it was back in the fifties. EVERY team after that was content to moan in the Aranycsapat's shadow about the glory days, instead of building on what they learned and most importantly, KEEPING UP WITH THE TIMES. Coaching and equipment are both DECADES out of date, and it shows. Nowadays, football is just an excuse to funnel monies into politicians' pockets.

Having Hungary and Romania in doesn't mean a "change", not unless we finish at least third in the Group Stage, which is not very likely.

I agree with the two on Hungarian football and I can say that we've also gone down the drain as a national team, for me since 2000, with a few pleasant, but rare exceptions. Reaching Euro 2008 didn't show to me that we had a strong team.

I actually bet on hungary to win at norway. I also bet on bolivia to win, and on chile to draw. They all did.

I lost the bet slip on imbecile Uruguay (they lost to.... Ecuador)

Well poop.
The quality of the Euro's has just dropped down a notch with us there as well. Although any teams lucky enough to draw us in the group stages are gonna feel very lucky indeed. I don't see anybody worse than us that's going to be there.
I guess I'll learn what it feels like being a supporter of one of the tiny caribbean island nations that get to go to the World Cup but get trashed 11:0 in the first game by Germany or anybody else for that matter.

So I blew it in two predictions, but it's not like I cared for Norway and Bosnia to go through.

Denmark and Slovenia have a tougher time to prove me wrong.

I don't know exactly why, but ever since 2009 or so, Real have been getting owned by Barca badly. Despite that the difference in talent is not big to me...

Real Madrid had a CL winning team. Did the president try his best to keep the team together and reinforce it?

Many Real fans said that too. Especially about selling Claude Makelele.

Edit: Oh and if you meant 2014 squad, that too.

Is it "yes he did"?

Yeah Makelele was very good. I think many underestimated his importance for Real Madrid and France, two teams that were respectively the best club team and the best national team in the world when he played for them.

Of course Zidane was there too, but he was creativity, while Makelele was stability in my opinion.
