Honestly, I guess Pele & Madonna stood out as much if not even more. I don't contest the level of play has increased a lot, despite everything is always better in the past... but I'm more interested in who stood out similarly to Messi and less-Messi.
I recall there have been crazy goal scoring average where they played less games a season yet one player had scored more goals than most attackers do these days.

Well i suppose before our generation there was the likes of Pele, Eusebio, Cruyff. But i know what you mean, they were'nt exactly mega stars in their day.

I don't know, i think they are going to find it hard to beat PSG now they don't need Zlatan - they played good without him.

I couldn't watch their match (busy watching RM-BVB, you know ), and while it's true that PSG scored even after Ibra injury...idk, let's say that Mourinho doesn't give up easily - and he is very experienced.
Of course, I by no means suggesting that Chelsea is favourite nor anything in those lines, just that they have their (small) chances. Slighty biggers that BVB, imo

So, let's check EPL.
Liverpool at the top with 74 points.
Chelsea second with 72 points.
M. City third with 70 points, but 2 matches less played.
That alone is quite a hot race, but I checked the last games remaining and this ones will probably critical for the title race:
Next week: Liverpool - Manchester City
In three weeks: Liverpool - Chelsea
In four weeks: Everton - Manchester City
Both Liverpool and M. City have two big matches ahead, while Chelsea has only one. On the other hand, Chelsea also has UCL and, City still has to play the finals of one of england Cups right?
A lot could still happen.

Real first half was totally atrocious. Since I saw Di María pick the ball I wondered who had the bright idea of letting Di María and not XAlonso (or Bale) to take the pen...Illarra was mostly so experienceless, he made so many stupid mistakes...
On the second half they played better, much serious and Madrid had a fair amount of chances. Both teams were so dominant at home...
Funny if you think on it, it's like last year semifinal but backwards: Madrid dominating the first leg (instead of BVB), BVB scoring both goals on the first half of the second leg (instead on the second half), Madrid having chances to kill the match in the second half...
And Chelsea advanced lollll. José Mourinho always finds a way xD

I watched Atletico - Barça and without doubts Atleti deserved to advance of round. The first 20 minutes of the first half were insanely intense, with 3 posts apart from the goal.
Then the match was more even, with Barça having more domination of the game. But since minute 60 or so Atletico regained control of the game and never let Barça do their game - and Barça spent most of the second half doing crosses, with Messi and Neymar of strikers, yeah...
Now waiting for ohfololo and see how our predictions went
