The power of mapmaking
I just came across those screens from some chinese mapmaker. Actually the maps are not playable, the purpose is to create uniques layouts.
Amazing.

I especially love the first picture, and the 8th one (with pegasi). I don't like when the same object is put next to another so many times like he does sometimes.
I try to give some kind of good layouts to maps too, but not as good as these of course to avoid playability problems. Possibilities given by the editor are almost unlimited, and it just nedds more shrubs, more hills, more trees, flowers, lakes and foutains 
Anyway, we could do it there too, like the creature contest. Why not create a layout contest ? 
That could be fun...
EDIT : Let's see if some members are interested in, I can be a judge...

I think that Fnord(that was his nickname right?) was creating some eyecandy things...not maps...and they were really good...

these are... well... completely awesome. the mapmaker must been working harder then hell to create this. extreemely good stuff.

Below is a map I made a few months ago. There is a lot work to be finished, but it is playable.

Their look at minimap is amazing~! And i like that scene on dungeon's roof(it looks like a party  )

@Shyranis: Shining Force, yes.
@Warmonger: About 4000, 1 GB in all, impossible to install, basically have to download the whole LOD. The first reason why modding H3 at a large scale is not practical at all.

Well, you can. All the layouts you see above, including my previous screens, are now part of Era graphical mods, downloadable and usable in seconds.
