Nothing in the life is certain.
But then, why not?

The game has automatic daily builds, any release is an arbitrary decision of changing the version number.

Not possible, cheats are hardcoded.

Many game settings can be modded though - moders and developers use this option a lot.

Just before holidays new version VCMI 1.1.0 was released

Features include:

- Cross-platform network multiplayer
- Support for iOS (iPad, iPhone)
- First version of the new map editor, which supports all the mods and random maps.
- Beam animations for some shooting creatures

Just add a mod and the Random Map Generator handles it with no issues.

Can you please implant the original gosolo command from heroes3 by pressing TAB and entering this command, AI takes over for 1 turn. It could help with a lot of testings

Very much enjoying messing around with VCMI again. Regarding the map editor:

1) Roads don't save. Is this an oversight or is it bugged on my end?
2) I would love to see the delete-hotkey being added.
3) I can't find a way to change the victory and loss conditions. I supposed this isn't added yet. Or am I missing something?

Thanks guys. So cool that you're still working on this after all these years.

Edit: Also, is there an option to allow a custom faction to also be generated in underground zones on random maps?

Gosolo mode is implemented for years, but can be enabled/disable through console (https://wiki.vcmi.eu/Cheat_codes - Console commands section)

I added it myself. However I can confirm it doesn't work now in 1.1.0 build, submitted a bug report: https://github.com/vcmi/vcmi/issues/1356

Please note this is not the same as in heroes3. Currently in VCMI gosolo is only can be enabled via console but not via in-game. And most importantly it doesn't act like the original heroes3 gosolo command. Currently, in VCMI it just simulates AI endlessly and completely disables user control and UI. In the original heroes3 gosolo user can type a command in-game and it acts only for 1 turn with an additional pop-up coming up after 1 turn asking if user wants to continue autoplay or take over control back. So user can adjust a few things by his own will and later again let AI finish the turn for the user. (build buildings, move unmoved heroes, build armies, etc... if AI would do as normal on his gameplay).

@Krs could you please note this in guthub aswell, as I tried a few times in the past to suggest this command for more user friendly but within 2-3 years was ignored as it was confused with the current VCMI's gosolo command which is 2 different things and it doesn't act like original gosolo command from heroes3. Many thanks for improving the mod and all your work

as far as I recall, this option exists and it is in the faction settings (the jsons)

But I have been wrong before so others can confirm

PS. Yes, demoixas - I looked a bit into gosolo command, but it's not trivial with current code to implement that particular thing - players swapping/management is kind of mess and focus is needed elsewhere on some really important areas at the moment.
