VCMI is open source. You can take sources and make your own fork with all these features you need. The only question is "can you gather team to work on fork or can you make it alone".

Is not so ridiculous, we spend 95% of our Heroes time in battle. Would be interesting to see to what extent VCMI allows changing battle physical parameters, if it is possible or not, and if yes let's think about. Teleporters moving the battle in another location, harmful obstacles (passable but inflict damage), bf size extended, harmful spells from sky (weather), ambushes when near forest obstacles, why not different hex forms, depending on what you seek.

Having more towns and creatures is nice, creating new variants of Heroes is even better.

VCMI won't "allow" things to happen out of thin air. It was designed to handle original game mechanics, not all possible and impossible mechanics imaginable.

These are all interesting ideas in general, but to implement anything it must be detailed.

Think about it for a while. How would you handle the following:

- Multi-hex spells
- Multi-hex attacks
- Existing battlefield obstacles and graphics in general
- Starting positions for units

These are just some of things that need to be discussed. And the benefit of rewriting it all would be...?

VCMI 0.98c includes few new features:

- RMG creates roads
- RMG templates are handled via mod system

All graphics used by me are based on CC-BY or Public Domain sources (3d models. pixel art etc.)

The goal is to create free (open source) game so no copyrighted by Ubi stuff will be used.

Hello Warmonger, I never tried this mod but it looks insane. I'm trying to install it, and I have a few questions :

-What is the latest stable version ? 0.98c ? why is the 0.97 linked in the topic front page ?
-How am I supposed to install it ? I downloaded 0.98c and now I don't know which file to run, I extracted it in the heroes folder but every .exe gives an error message
-Is it stable overall ?
-Can I install it OVER a heroes directory where I already installed ERA and WoG ?

I feel like I clicked 10 links in a row to get the files, and I have absolutely no idea how to install that. Fortunately there was the readme file

Sorry, I wasn't quite clear.

I meant the repository itself, not the mods. (I just saw that there was an update on the HotA mod) Forge and Bastion came out but I can't find them on the launcher.

Nonono. Launcher is only for finished and tested mods of high quality.
Forge had serious bugs last time I checked and Bastion doesn't match our quality criteria.
