HOMM3 on a netbook

I'm getting a netbook in a few weeks, and I'm wondering, do I need any special programs for the game to run with minimal problems in a small laptop such as EEE 1000H?

what is Operating System? Windows or Linux? With Windows should not be problem. With Linux is possible to run,, but not easy

Windows.
What concerns me the most is the resolution. I really don't want to see thick black lines at the edge on the screen
