You've never used dark against academy either? I mean you've played your share of games.

Yes I have used Dark.. and guess I got lucky, cause I cast puppet and it landed twice in my most recent game.. cant remember who it was agasint but I remember them saying, how lucky I was that it didnt get mirrored. But as a rule I dont use Dark vs Acadamy very much because of Mirror.
But Dungeons only weapon is destruct so have to cast spells at the mirror. Guess I learned that I need to always cast mass spells even if they bearly do any damage.

My cross examination technique proved successful  Just replace clue dark with destructive and the case is solved.

O'Marvelous ONE... please explain how I fight with Dungeon and Not use Destruct when No Defense Ever offered, and 9 max defense. I am all ears!

You knew about mirror and you still risked it, that's where I was getting at. I get destructive almost always even vs academy, however I've been known to use dark, summoning or even better light. And of course attack->tactics/power of speed, luck->resistance, defense, leadership->empathy/aura of swiftness. A simple hybrid build with destructive, enlight, sorcery, luck and tactics works fine most of the time.

This is the part I dont understand.. I was Dungeon.. I have no choice but to " Risk it!" Casting Spells at Mirror is Dungeons only weapon... and IF you mean I risked casting a NON mass spell.. then I guess... But my only mass spell was FireBall and with his FireProtection arts and his 63% reduction, my fireball did enough damage to kill 1 titan worth of damage.

Which means you put all your eggs in one basket. If besides the lvl 3 spell you lack meteor you can't just get in and hope your mirrored spells won't kill you.
Of all the times Vangelis had risked single spells against my academy only once did it help him take the game. And we've played our share, it always comes back to bite him in his @ss.

So to sum it up.. what your telling me is regardless how sucky the damage is from your one and only mass destruct spell, it is far better to do the crappy damage then to risky the High Single Damage spell. OK NOTED!.. for next time!

I think what he said is that you'd want to go for a might build (power of speed tactics and luck) with magic only to soften them up with the armour reduction/ignite if you really feel like it. Blackdragons or even Reddragons vs. Titans/Khastras can be totally devastating if you get a hit in while their defense is reduced. If it's lucky that's some pretty mean damage right there.
I find Academy vs. Dungeon to be one of the toughest match ups for Dungeon really. I have no clue what to do except go for the might/magic hybrid thing. Killer Phoenix or AA would be nice too I guess.

Azagal, I hear what your saying.. and it makes sense.. But the part I am struggling with understanding is... How can I make a MIGHT Dungeon Hero with NO Defense Skill and 9 defense? Even if I have nice attack, the min I Strike there retaliate melts me?
I appreciate your effort in explaining this.. As I have said, I dont play Dungeon, maybe after I get a few pointers I can give them a shot.

9 defense is actually pretty high, more than I'd expect in a game with them. If you want a testing match I'll gladly oblige.

Well your facing Academy Jinxer... since when does Academy have killer attack and defense stats? Tt's not even moderate it has the worst growth chances of all the factions out there for those two stats.
You have high attack vs a wizards pathetic defense. You have to see your stats in relation to your opponents (that's why going might against for example Haven or Stronghold is a bad idea) so what if you have 0 Defense (kinda extreme case it should be ~3)? Your enemy will have arround 3 Attack so the damage increase is minimal. It doesn't take a genious to realize that, don't you always brag about how many games you've had? I think you should have realized the principle by now, since this goes for the game, it's not duel map specific.
Not to mention that when your units hit the blow will be severe with luck or master of fire, therefore retal won't be the key factor in your units demise. Raiders can instant clear Titans/Rhakshasas with Luck alone. Now add Master of fire and elemental vision and and your key units can do amazing damage. The problem with Academy is that they're designed for turteling so it should be hard to get a good charge or hit the right units. But it certainly doesn't mean that it's a hopeless fight and much less that Dungeon isn't formidable in might builds.

Dungeon with expert attack, defense and luck is just beautiful. Recently i played some Arena game on my own map ( 16 level ) and i went for retribution with Kythra. Attack, defense, luck, retribution. No magic at all. Only mass endurance. They devastated the dwarfs in under 3 turns Minotaurs were awesome. My friend goes for attack, defense, luck, mass haste + endurance each time when facing orcs ( if he gets defense of course ) and surprisingly it usually works just perfect.

In your map it should cause it's 15 lvl without dark revelation. Here the orcs' higher stats with aura of swiftness, tactics and retribution put a bit extra pressure in dungeon. That is not to say I don't try a might orientation vs orcs but destructive or any other school is a necessity.

Nearly everyone has finished quarters, only me and albo remain but had busy schedules and hardly any time to play. We will have finished within the weekend, however I see no progress still with Elias and Storm Giant. Unless you two finish by Monday Elias passes to the next round and this is final.
