That would work against balance though, fortress with dark can prove too powerful against inferno/orcs, likewise rain of frenzy is outrageous.. You can still use all mass spells and be effective but allowing those two to learn higher level dark can mess things up.

I have to agree with Elvin on this matter. Have quite similar map in our league. The Tomes are allowed there but it's more difficult to posses Dark Magic ( only 4 mentor changes and 16 level of heroes) but if the elves cast rain of frenzy the battle is nearly over. If they are lucky to posses Dark Magic ( frenzy 2 actions ) it's really over. The puppet is also sometimes so strong that units act very often. We left that for fun but as i said it's very rare. Here possessing the Dark is much easier so this situations would appear often. With Dwarfs when not having your full army strength you can't do a lot.

That said I am planning a chaos cup for those that don't pass the first round, no bans Except maybe word of light/cotn, divine vengeance and armageddon that are known to be gamebreakers. Besides most of the fun in such games is the artifact combos and unconventional magic

Hmm due to the bad people that made the Epic Collection, and the fact that my other order was cancelled (somebody got ahold of my debit card number and I had to cancell it)..may not get ToTE in time to play.

Ive been playing HoMM since 3, played loads of HoMM 5 but usually against the AI (well, I play in heroic, at least). So I dont have much experience in MP, almost none, actually. I usually play Co-OP against the AI with m y girlfriend and at the end, after the AI is out, we have one big battle among our strongest heroes, which I always win. Other than that, never played against humans.
So, Im eager to have some pratice if anyone is up to. Im in Brazil and I work all day, and I understand most of you guys are in Europe, so it might be a bit hard to find a good time for both of us. But please, add me in MSN so we can talk about it, perhaps find time for a little match.

Basically final version, may have a few minor tweaks before the end but we are at the end of the line Rm removed from Agrael, sylvan weakened, ring of machine affinity now costs 12k.

Btw, one question - took quick look at the map - should it be so that orcs can't get any relicts in their artifact merchants?

Thanks zilo. It's not just the orcs, relics don't always appear in the merchants and that goes regardless of faction.
EDIT: After some testing I found that the game tries to generate artifacts in the merchants from the whole list instead of the ones I have allowed. So if it picks one from the disabled ones that appears as an empty spot in the merchant..
There are a few options:
- Leave it as it is and have relics appear rarely.
- Add back the remaining relics.
- Add back the relics but have only 1 merchant.
Option 2 is possibly imbalanced since it introduces a lot of randomness but also more gameplay options.
Option 1 is arena-like, personally I dislike the limitation but it may prove more balanced in the long run. Yet higher possibility that some factions get crappy artifacts. I should also mention that arena allows you to buy more army if you get crappy arties but here you can buy all your army regardless.
If I remove one merchant then academy and dungeon will still get 2.
Since we are all playing in this one I'd like opinions. My exams start again tomorrow and I'll be busy until Saturday so I hope to have some feedback by then
