1) Can you name only a player who actually played both H3 and H5 at high levels? Except Jinxer, but he is an alien, you rename pacman to HoMM and he is going to play it day and night.
There is no time in a whole life to understand both games.

I prefer HOMM3 because it just holds up so well for me after all these years, and it's the earliest version I've had, and I've never had any sort of problems that made my computer shut itself down like with 4 and 5. I like the old style, although if 4 had creature UPGRADES, I would have liked it a little more. 5 is just a pain with the camera, and the buildings are way too exspensive, especially the upgrades for most of the creatures.

HoMM 2/3 for sure. Yes I played HoMM 5 and I loved it too, though the campaign seems a little easy compared to homm2/3 (no I didn't play it on easy)
Never liked homm4. Tried it for a few hours, and then again the next day. Didn't get myself to like it.

I think Heroes 2 or 3 are the best ones. HEroes 3 if your playing Multi player and Heroes 2 if your solo. I love all of them except Heroes 4. That game Sucks

Heroes 3 > Heroes2 > Heroes 1 > Heroes 4
However, I think the collective "Heroes 3 is definitely the best" idea may be the resutlt of not being acquainted with Heroes 4 that well, as those two sequels differ in many aspects; in fact, HoMM4 broke for good the similarity chain that the previous three franchises made, starting, e.g., from the view of the battlefield, the participation of the very hero in the battle, very different combat system, etc. I don't rank HoMM4 lower than HoMM3 because I hate it (well, partially, I do, because of either lacking or untastefully changing many cool creatures the HoMM3 had), but because I never came to know the tactics of HoMM4 that well. And I don't think I'll want to because I am way more experienced with HoMM3, and it is easier and a bigger fun to play to me.
I've never played Heroes 5, so I can't judge it.

I personally think that heroes 5 complete is the best.It has very good graphics and gameplay.Heroes 3 is a close second

HoMM1 - mainly for two reasons:
- The way, how spells work there.
- HoMM1 had very good maps.

I reckon heroes 3. the bad guys were bad sandro is my all time fav ') The magic and skills were so much better than heroes 4&5
