HC Broadcasting Network

Beginning transmission.

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls of all ages, it's the Past Bedtime Show with Keksimaton!

Greetings and welcome everybody! It's great to be here! Yeah! We have a great show here tonight. Moved from the Volcanic Wastelands over to the Glade and took the entire network with me baby!

I was recently taken over by an urge to watch a bunch of old Disney movies. Snow white, Lady and the Tramp, Bambi; you know the classics. I came in expecting merely a good shot of nostalgia, but I was very pleasantly surprised! The artwork was just amazing, they had great atmosphere, the movies simply reeled me in and made me realize that my inner child isn't quite dead yet.

In my nostalgic sugar rush I started thinking: Why is Disney commonly regarded as a pinnacle of pandering, a monument of movies done wrong and a collective of the most malevolent of corporate suits in history? Those movies were great!

Somehow, a repressed memory was unlocked and I shifted through my DVDs. All of my nightmares came true as absolute terror struck me! I had stumbled upon Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure. A movie barely of feature lenght that features: Bland artwork, no atmosphere, a cast of pedophile dogs, some kind of a canine lolita and Patrick from Spongebob.

Enough of my rambling. It's a talkshow, let us welcome our first guest!

Hello, there, keksimaton!

*stumbles into the room*

It's bloody great to be back from England, lemme tell you and, yes, I have a certain fondness of disney movies as well. My favourite is the hunchback of notre-dame for some ridiculous reason. And I must say that all sdisney-sequels are horrifying and should never be watched as well. hence the lady and the tramp 2, lion king 2 hunchback 2 etc...

Anyway, what would you like to talk about?

Hello and welcome! It's great to have you here Dagoth and I hope you had a great trip. We could speak of England, the community or maybe keep going with this tangent of Disney movies.

Let's start with England. I happen to have been there once. I was a wee laddie back then, but a few things still stick out in my memory. What kind of trip was it? Business or pleasure?

Pleasure, I went with a belgian company called Roeland. They have a rather high reputation there, since since most people who come back from their trips come back with major improvements in their language skils. Basically, what they do is take participants who pay a rather sizeable (but not too sizeable) sum of money to a region where they speak a different language. They're called language camps and there you are prohibited from speaking your first language. Naturally, it wasn't really hard for me.

I went to the region of Norfolk. ifyou have no idea where that is, find cambridge on a map and go a bit north-east...
That's more or less norfolk. I went out on three excursions (which I enjoyed most, because then I can find those cheap(CHEAP) book stores that sell second hand books for two pounds, the equivalent of 2.40 euroes. Also, I enjoy strolling around in king's college and trinity college, dreaming about what if I were a grade a-student with big sacks of cash...

The food was typically awful, unlike the french roeland camps (oh, how I enjoyed two warm meals a day in France!). The English people themselves complained about the food to give you an idea about the quality. My guess is that the kitchen staff were trying to please both audiences and failed entirely. Of course, can't really blame them, since they have to prepare food for 90 people three times a day for fourteen days.

I also got online once or twice, bu didn't post much, here sinceI'm at least four times slower when typing on a qwerty keyboard. To people who don't know this concept: the keyboard configurations from the regions around france are entirely different from the keyboard configurations from the rest of the entire world. And I don't care about that, I think it's just all about what ou're used to working with.

Anyway, did I miss anything during my absence?

Nothing that I'd be aware of.

But I did kind of announce that I was working on a movie. It's going to be a silent film shot in black and white with digital video and it's starring me, myself and I. I might reveal more later, but now it's kind of top secret stuff that I keep on my night stand.

Here's a random question: Do you ever consider yourself snooty?

Well, ermm... that depends really!

*starts sweating uncomfortably*

*goblin creeps up and whispers in ear something about snobbish that you can't quite make out*

Oh, snooty!
Yes, I consider myself snooty an awful lot. In fact, I know that most people look at me as rather arrogant. My ex told me that and my mother as well to give you an idea of how aware I am of that. I, myself am a very distant person, so I don't know. Maybe it's a way to excuse the distance I have with most people. Maybe it's easier to think i'm better than some people than to believe that I have weak social skills. maybe it's easier to think I'm often misunderstood, because people don't have the proper intelligence to understand me.

It's not as bad as I describe here of course. Mostly I play it off as a joke that I'm arrogant and it gets some laughs. If i say something that makes people say: "How the hell do you know that?!", then I make an arrogant remark, because that's easier than excusing myself for having a different interest from the general public. Sometimes I complain to myself that people are boring, so, yes, I'm horribly snooty. There's no denying that, but though I may act like that, I don't hate my fellow man

I feel you man. Speaking of different interests...

We all know that you have been an active contributor to the glade for a good while and have risen to quite the Glade fame. It was pretty quiet when you were gone. Now that you're back, maybe you could fill us in on your feelings and experiences with roleplaying in general and the Glade.

I will in a minute, though for a quick second I want to say that the film project sounds awesome!

Anyway, the glade, personally I enjoy self-spun epic fantasy stories ever since I was a little kid and saw the fantastic action of anime-shows like rurouni kenshin abd later on DBZ. I imagined grand and powerful demons and sorcerers, fighting great epic battles for ideological matters or personal ones. Great, complicated plots and twists, heel face turns, betrayal, murder, slaughter, good vs evil vs quite-not-so-evil-but-definitely-not-good and all that. I imagined spells and monsters so grand I could day dream about them or pretend to eb them all day!

And then I found this, a place where so many create self-spun tales in interaction with other people. People found a way to make the most intimate and closed things like your own imaginations a social thing. Of course, the rules were quite different here, but the principle was still the same. Though, some people don't understand the social aspect and go full-power godmode player, like they would in their imagination or, in case they didn't have these wild fantasies, they would act as if it were a game and there was a winner, which of course is nothing but BS. And then others would forget the imagination aspect and treat this as if it were some primitive combination between MSN and the sims and forgot all about the story.

I think that roleplaying is finding the fine balance between social interaction and exploring your own creative imagination. I enjoy it thoroughly, though it may be time-consuming and people sometimes don't seem to react the way you want them to, which sometimes is a bit of a shame.

Now, to the Glade. In itself, the Glade is a rather unique roleplaying forum. Other roleplaying fora have the problem of being way too overpopulated. While in the glade you find some powergamers, in other roleplaying fora, you find the people who think roleplaying is a social tool and nothing else or people who create super awesome avatars of themselves...
Okay, that last one you may encounter here, but there's a good thing about the system here:
- there's quality
- the players know eachother here
- and anyone can join

The other forums have quite the opposite. Though, for every M.EG.A. and quest for the armaments of god, here, there are about five the monarchy and fear and loathing. The thing with that is that there is low participation and thus low quality and incentive. Whn there is big participation, here, there is big quality, though and that's a very good thing. To be honest, the best glade experience I ever had the quest for the armaments of god. It's not the ebst of course. the best one is LHW and I find it a pity I wasn't there when it first started. I think the glade is a bit in the middle ages, now, after a hellenistic period. Sure there are great things here, but they do not live up to their predecessors. I hope that the upcoming H6 will spark a HC renaissance with all the new members that would inevitably come.

and if you ask whether there would possibly be too many new members, then. i for one doubt that and for another thing: HC-people are very different from roleplaying forum people

I'm sorry if I sounded a bit melodramatic.

It looks like we are running low on time now. Anything you would like to say or do before we finish off?

Well, normally I'd do something emperor palpatine-style, but i'll just enlighten you with these profound words: If you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world pass by, kiss her! Explain later, she'll understand once you mentioned you're a terminal patient and had this on your list of things to do befor eyou die!

Anyway, it was nice talking to you, keksimaton and i'm srry for dragging on as I did

Now, I'll take my leave!

The Bedtime Show With Keksimaton

Hello boys and girls! I come bearing a message to you all. The Heroes Community Broadcasting Network is in dire need of new shows. We are willing to accept any show. Please, we are desperate.

Some time ago I was thinking about religion. Yes, religion. I thought about all of the religious organisations and beliefs and came to a conclusion that if one has to choose one of them, it's like taking a bet where you wager your soul. If you win, you will spend eternity in paradise, or get reincarnated as a cow or something.

As a very indecisive guy, I decided not to bind myself to any one of them, but go somewhere in between.

Sadly enough I now have to announce that the show will be going on a break, because I am going to be absent.

I'll spare a coin to the battle against Lord Xenu as I drum my shamanistic instruments around a fire, with some goat's blood to sacrifice in my backpocket before going on a pilgrimage to Mecca on the golden middlepath, with an ever vigilant eye on the karma meter...

But not during the weekend.

Let us welcome our next guest!

Oh look! It's mr. Puppethands! Hi mr. Puppethands!

So how are you doing today? - Oh is that so. How unfortunate.

How about those biker gangs? - Haha! Right on!

Oh it seems that mr. Puppethands needs to go now.

Bye mr. Puppethands!

That's our show for tonight folks! Sleep tight.

Now it's time for storytime with Keksimaton.

Hello and welcome to storytime with Keksimaton. I'm your host, Keksimaton. Today's story is an English adaptation of a short story written by a twelve year old Keksimaton. The story is titled: Spider-man's Summer Vacation.

"The Rhino arrested, but the heists continue. Spider-man suspected!" The front page of the Bugle announced. "Oh, that Jameson. Will he ever stop?" Sniffed Spidey and started web slinging towards his home, but suddenly remembered that he had booked a flight to Hawaii; what a good start for summer vacation! Once he had gotten to the Hawaii airport he ran for the beach. Once he got there his jaw dropped open as he saw Sandman making castles of sand, Hydroman surfing, Dr. Octopus playing an octopus, Electro charging The Shocker's batteries etc. (Author's note: All the above mentioned are enemies of Spider-man that are familiar to some of the people listening and during this thing some other might be mentioned!) The entire collection of goons set their activities aside and attacked Spidey. Spidey shouted so loud that the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Hulk, Captain America and others who were at the other beach over, came to Spidey's aid and initiated the battle. Smack pow whoosh! Whollywhackers, "Aaargh!!!" Plonk-plank, "Owowow!" "Owch! That's not legal!" Crack! Kaboooom! And many more insightful comments, like about the fishbowl on Mysterio's head etc. Once everyone was covered in bumps, it was collectively decided that they all go home and never speak of this again.

-The End-

Now wasn't that a grand story? The translation team did the best they could to capture the essence of the original. I'll call it a great success!

Untill next time kids!
