The Transparency in HoMM III

The Transparency in HoMM III
Not a myth, and a reality!

The transparency theme in HoMM III excited players and modmakers still for a long time. But all attempts to opening of a code of a transparency of game have not crowned success. But, yesterday, Semen , well knowing ERA, has informed, that by means of data engine will realise a transparency in game simply. No sooner said than done, today we can already see results of this work.

Also, similar, it is possible to make transparent animation in DEF monsters.
Future HoMM III has already come!

VCMI already supports transparency, all we need are 32-bit graphics.

Not wanting to sound pessimistic or such, but I think we are jumping over the steps here. We need first:

1) tutorial about importing models with detailed explanations about indexed and RGB colors to use.
2) tutorial about making .msg/msk files associated with new adventure objects (I have 100+ new objects but the H3DefTool.exe made by GRayFace crash when creating .msg/msk)

3) tutorial about using 3DSmax for this purpose.

Warmonger, you probably don't know so I have to explain to you that not every topic which is created there relates to VCMI.
And that's why this news is realy goos for everybody and especially good for people who wants to use original Heroes 3, not it's clones.

Aleee I also agree that every news about a fellowship adding a new code is great but also I deplore that there are different teams out not communicating on their projects. VCMI, Corewog team, 3.59 team, HoTA team, all working on their own and each one (gentle) picking on  others. Maybe I am out of context, but if one day they would cooperate we will finally see one project out and solid, which is not the case.

PS: Still I don't get what I have to look for in those screens; Is that special terrain letting the bridge corner appear in its body?

@FCst1: I am in awe about Berserker and his ERA project but right now it is a beta and I can't get it working without errors. Yunnings from chinese forums can't get it run neither and he is much more skilled than me about programming and new exe.
So far ERA is not compatible with previous maps so installing it prohibits access to them. I am very interested about the project but I choose to wait a more stable release, if one.

The Cover of Darkness is also partially see-though, but I'm not sure whether that's an old feature or not.

That new DefTool looks great, I've never seen it but I suspect it actually works. Have you a link?

But we're working on different things. VCMI in only engine, Hota comes with a lot of new content for game. WoG 3.59 appears to be mythical beeing, though I'd love to hear more of it of course.
Some member of HoTa team told VCMI is interesting project, but since it's far from finished, it's unlikely to talk about support this year.
Sooner or later it will all work together anyway, that's our purpose.

I just found that Berserker, main leader on 3.59 development has quited Heroes world and closed/deleted all his work. If it is for ever, then it is really terrible news.

Exhisting solutions are only for adventure map. It is still impossible to make something transparent in combat.

VCMI supports 32-bit color, all we need is someone who makes graphics with transparency layer.
