I agree to a point, but it's hardly that simple. You don't have a single "reason" for killing. Reasons for killing are infinite, and though we can do our best to reduce the crime rate, people will still murder each other. Some are just criminally insane, some are too greedy, some kill out of rage, some out of neglect... How would you remove all the factors? Especially without laws - though I'm not a fan of laws any more than you are.

Actually laws are the only thing that keep order in a human society, because humans (unlike computers) are mostly *******s, greedy and selfish exploiters. You can't seriously compare a human, which hasn't even escaped from primitive instincts, to a computer

There is NO such thing as order in a human society without laws, it's just utopia/fantasy.

In my opinion the main goal of the prisons is to make the criminals fit into the society again. Killing or torturing them makes nobody happy... -.-
Unless you are a cold-blooded dinosaur.

I agree with making an attempt on getting them back into society, but there has to be a line. A manic mad killer who has killed people randomly over quite some time needs to be put down, and some more.
I support hanging, beheading, and some more methods of execution. Well I also support that to get death penalty will take effort.

You're completely ignoring the role of norms/social pressure. There is plenty that isn't illegal but just isn't done.

So should "legally insane" killers be allowed to go on field trips to the fair? This one did and escaped.

Yes they should, if they are insane. This is the fault of the authorities for not looking after him good enough, giving him a chance to escape.
