i must say i was extremely lucky in both games
the 1st academy(me) vs necro i had 2 luck and it looked at the beginning like about 8(without 5 limit)
2nd was me again with aca vs orcs
after 2 turns i looked pretty bad for me but no shatter dark and trying to brake my spells with witch doctors was a mistake
by the way i have never seen that work on duel map(from my pretty limited expirience )

I got badly screwed over by Elias Maluco's witch docs once, with Dark Magic, which failed badly against his Shatter Dark and witch docs. My spell power was 12, pretty good for a d-lord (Biara). Which is why I will beat myself up a long while over not picking Destructive instead.

You shouldn't. Really I'm positive that despite Expert Shatter Dark , Dark is the much better choice against Stronghold.
It's not the same of course but here you have my Lazslo vs Haggash on Storm-Giants side. He had Expert Shatter Dark with every perk there was and I stilled pulled through (only used frenzy once and it did me a lot of good).

Yes I confirm.. Here is a detailed report from games against odium:
Game #1
Michi69 (Dungeon, Lethos) vs odium (Haven, Irina) 1:0
I wasn't especially delighted with my build.. only 22 spellpower iirc. No master of anything, no elemental artifacts. However, Michi's luck didn't let me down, did it? Out of 10 first strikes, 7 was lucky, the crucial ones I should underline. And my luck level was 3.. so theoreticaly 30% chances. odium didn't possess whole army as well. So it was as always interesting and quick battle between these two sides, this one in favour of Dungeon.
Game #2
Michi69 (Haven, Vittorio) vs Odium (Sylvan, Alaron) 0:1
I chosen Vittorio in order to improve my ballista as much as I could. I kissed the Sphinxs passionate - and got nice build. I bought the ring of War Machines (don't know it's appriopiate name) - so there were 4 shots, with Flaming Arrows. It was so powerful that was able to kill mystic arcanes with just 4 shots.. One turn - one unit. And I was so smart to expose ballista in the very first turn.. That was a superb move, really :/ On the other hand, Odium was well prepared to the battle and supposedly he'd win anyway.. but still I'm shocked how I was able to knock on the head all my preparations with just one move.. Brilliant, Michi :]
Game #3
Michi69 (Inferno, Deleb) vs odium (Stronghold, Haggash) 1:0
Having some bad memories about this matchup vs Haggash (remember Bliz?) I wasn't so happy with it. So I was rather sceptical about my chances. But I was offered really perfect build.. tripple ballista, attack, defence, and luck.. yes.. this luck again settled it. I wasn't even forced to struggle a lot to win this.. luck, morale, luck morale.. poor odium did his best but couldn't avoid a defeat.
And this way my swashbuckling predictions came true.. Odium is out, unfortunately. But it was pleasure to play against him, really. It's a pity, that I play well only when it's completely without importance to me.
Final score: Michi69 vs odium 2:1

Yeah, even with the shatters it only helps a tad. Might over magic helps a tad too. Frenzy is killer for Stronghold regardless as they have no way of cleaning it.

And in a late night session Storm-Giant and me finished our games. Both were respectively kind of retarded from me and him. But well you'll see for yourself.
Storm-Giant vs. Azagal
InfernoDungeon vs Haven. It was a fun battle and considering the arena, no swift mind for him and his defense stat (0 lol) I should have blazed through that but well... it was a bit later than we had planed and when we started I clicked the Sphinx instantly (schtuuuupid) with Maeve so I couldn't scroll arround to look who he was. I saw the black ground and there was not a doubt in my mind: "ah ok that's inferno". So I went for a anti-dark build and everything went perfect build wise. Imagine my surprise when I saw his Warlock lol... obviously my unit choices were wrong too since I was going all anti dark. I managed to make it thight enough with a few crucial luck triggers but he pulled through.
Stronghold vs Inferno. Well after I had lost a match due to the demonic plague they were nice enough to show up for me in order to personally see the next one through with me. And they were quite supportive . Again he had Expert Shatter Dark while I had a very pleasing Dark repertoire (every good spell except confusion) but all I had to do was to set a 2 frenzies and split my seducers to rob him of every momentum he could potentially have had. Well I must say that I was lucky that he had gotten Gotai and went for a Shout-focused build which my Imps made very short process of (oh and my lucky gates were cool). In the end I was very satisfied with my demonic companions . If he had charged I would probably have lost since I was kind of on a suicide mission lol. I had no defense stats and no defense skill while he had I think 16 attack xD.
And well that wasn't how our games ended but I think he wants to post the other replay xD.

*Only* 22? That's pretty decent you know. Sylvan vs haven game was fun, don't see machines often against them. Nice prismatic action.
So with odium out and Azagal passing we are a little closer to the final. With three opponents in semifinals it's a leettle messy so here's the plan.
Both Azagal and Bliz play Larry 3 games, the two that gather most points will meet in the final. Should two players get a draw in the last place then we have sudden death, one match to decide.

I confirm my resuslts with Azagal, the last two matches were crazy
On the Inferno vs Haven(wait, I was dungeon ), without defensive nor defense, I enter the battle thinking that I was doomed. However, his stupid mistake didn't allow him to crush me, so I could use my powerfull spells(almost all pallies were slaughtered with deep freeze). If you hadn't thought that I was inferno I would clearly lose.
About the last one: I did a similar mistake like him, I just forgot about imps, and went to a shouting build with Gotai. When I saw the imps ate 54 of mana out of 70 I realize that I was doomed, no matter what I could do.
IIRC, you had a little defense stat(like 3), which is better than zero. I don't think I could have win.
Anyway, congrats for the games, and I see you on ToH!!

So Blizzard and me get to play 1 game while Larry gets to play 2. I'm pretty sure that I'm missing something there , since he can earn a potential 6 points while Blizzard and me can get 3 at max. Which favours Larry quite a bit obviously.
So we've all played 2 opponents to get into the semis but how do we go on?
If I may add my opinion I wouldn't be a big fan of "importing" a guy from the outside to play the 3rd person since that's pretty much against the idea of group phases.

@Elvin, many thanks for even considering me but in the past the extra challenger that can't proceed has always been someone who lost in preceding round which I agreed with (due to thinking that preceding round loser is more "fair" than complete outsider).
However, since blizzardboy & Azagal are both most active anyway (besides the Elf), I believe Larry would be the bottleneck
[there's nothing stopping Azagal & blizzardboy playing best 2 out of 3 anyway & I betcha that match ends earlier than any Larry matches]
IMHO, C'mon, quickly round-robin finish so I can play in next tourny...that's my opinion but Elvin is the lord so await confirmation, I can play blizzard anyday.
edit: @Azagal, that's funny. In the past, I recall posting something about dwarves being advantaged in the other thread & next change was they got extra 5000 gold

@blizzardboy: seems fastest way to finish this tourny is as per Elvin said: for me/you to challenge you/me just name a good time (not today due to RL incidents unless you dont mind waiting if  happens)
And bring/wear your lucky charms to get favoured matchups
