You people should stop with "but". "But" here, "but" there, "but" everywhere. Take it or skip it. Is not like I force you to change your editor. I like working on the game.

And whats the purpose to drop a Heroes object when you have 120 in chinese-style? It is a related specific scenario patch. Everything was changed, trees, flowers, mountains, ground. Now I am searching for  chinese units to create a whole faction. I owe this to the chinese community for working so hard on my weird maps. They translated 200 text pages for free.

Warmonger: Why? I think that a map made by only these chinese objects would look great.

EDIT: Salamandre: I would really like to see some chinese units. It is a very good idea.

Chinese Gnolls would be good, too

More objects coming, and with 20 frames each they ask only 1 additional MB from regular editor (people worried about CPU usage)

PS: I found the solution of the problem of 8th level creatures named "nothing". Just need a little change in ZEOBJTS.TXT.

@DDpro: I am working on them, I think it will be ready in a few days. Most previous objects from chinese patch were animated for the new release. Can you remove the image from your quote, as it screws the entire page layout? (why it goes to right when quoting I don't know)
please tell me what you modified for the Lev 8, so I can fix it.


@E-J: Thanks, but Fcst1 from russian forums already created a new ground with the same texture you propose. You are too late, but I appreciate.  Can you find other interesting textures?

Ive extracted some (more than 100!) graphics from other games and googled around a bit and i found some interesting new graphics. the one's from stronghold are probably slightly to big but that's no big problem. i hope you like them!

E-J, the objects look great! Especially this one:



But as you can see, you should have made the pictures maybe .png instead of .jpg, some pictures don't look so good, they have this strange purple colour all around them. It's propably hard to remove the pink all around them..

But after all, they're good .

The way to modify LV 8 creatures is:

Open the TXT in text editor and find "ZMM1", you will find the line like this (X is the number):

I see that CPU usage is equal to 50%, which is rather ridiculous for 10-years old game. And no, it has nothing to do with memory - unfortunatelly.

It does not use 50% and it has to do with memory. People with 512 Ko memory can't run the improved editor.

Any program I launch, pacman or WoWmodel viewer will show as 50% CPU usage. If I launch a second program then CPU goes to 0% and so on. It is only visual.

On original SOD editor I have 100% CPU usage with my Nortwood Celeron , and on updated WoG too , but there is no slowdowns.

I don't know what the "50" means in my task bar, but it is certainly not 50% CPU usage for an editor who takes 20 MO RAM to run. Maybe it is related to the fact that I have 2 processors and it uses only onehalf. Also if I open 20 programs at once, the "50" becomes "0" everywhere so I am not worried, no slowdowns or such.

Bytebandit reported computer crash when using this editor with 512 RAM (later he reported same crash with regular editor too). He had only 200 MB free memory and when ran internet + editor he crashed. So at least 1 GO ram is needed, but this is nowadays a rule.

Maybe Warmonger enlight us the noobs

What am I supposed to do if you claim that CPU usage is low and post a screenshot with 50% at same time?
Usually CPU and memory usage are contradictory, so faster process may use more memory or the opposite, unless you launch some big application of course.

My fault for not being more explicite: when I posted that screen I was flamed in Celestial heavens forum by ByteBandit who said the improved editor crash his system. So I posted my task bar to show it has no high requirements. What is that "50" I have no idea, it was mostly to show how RAM it uses. 1 additional MB only.
