Made a massive screw up in the item and skin codes. Anyway redownloaded the mod and time to start again. It was working perfectly, just minor issues such as lack of face texture, which was an issue with the mesh not recognizing the face texture, so I just put the material/texture in the same folder as the face mesh, and voila....oh wait no...something's gone terribly wrong.

Every mod reacts totally differently to my tampering, especially when it comes to faces and ****. Items work on the first-go 10% of the time, faces never, always some little problem with them.
Edit: Reverted all recent changes and nothing. Goddamn it, going to purge it again....urgh.
Edit2: First time I made the screw up by following the read me and overriding, which is retarded unless you're dealing with normal native. I really don't get what I messed up, all the changes I made worked perfectly in another mod, beard face all of it, something about PoP just screws it up which makes no sense, it uses Commonres for crying out loud for its faces, so it ain't even hard like Brytenwalda. MEH.

Why not just play the mods as they are?

I get urges, normally when I play games that I like, I simple overlook the rugged edges, cause you know that's all I can do. But with mount and blade, I have the power to improve it to my specific tastes in almost every respect, sure my limited modding experience stops me from making large overhauls, as in my lack of skill in designing textures and meshes hinders me somewhat, but I can generally import those. Everything else is up for grabs, factions/troop trees, all of it.
For example I found the Vale knights in a game of thrones mod to be lacking, so I imported winged hussar armours from fire and sword, and gave them speculars same as those in napoleonic wars for that very high detail lightning effect that gives that steel shine to 'em. Then I found out that the Vale is coded to not declare war, which is stupid, so I set their aggression to the Lannisters high.

Talk about dedication to perfection.
But I bet a lot of time and effort is wasted in the end.

idk around 8 hours nonstop working on it the other day, and after I finished I got this inner orgasm, then I didn't even bother playing, logically it should annoy me greatly, must've felt a satisfaction that is akin to my analogy.

Ya, it can be extremely satisfying when your modding efforts show results. Without that, there would not be nearly as many people who spends their free time modding.
