I think you have not chance about signposts...
Signposts like proverb/expression,etc,etc are banked in « rndstat0.lst »
but Signposts about object localizations are built into the RTMG random functions....

you get random towns while the creation of a map IF:

you uncheck « Replace Military Posts by Faction Dwellings 4 to 7 » Option
you uncheck « Race » in the Settings window

If you check one of both options then the random towns option in the game will be no more possible
caused by some technical reasons.

Great job ! I have a question. Why isn't it possible to edit start size, number of zones and border guard strength ? You already have the 'see xml' option, why not add 'edit xml' ? Is there a reason why you don't allow players more control of template generation ?

I have another question. Do  have to point the path to the executable in RTMG configuration to H5_Game.NCF.exe if I want to use NCF creatures ? Seems not as it says 'Wrong Version' if I do but will NCF creatures still work properly ? Can you give a step by step install procedure for NCF please.

I copied NCF_MegaPack.pak to data folder and did run NCFMegaPackInstaller.exe afterwards.

Now what to do with NCF TOE 3.1.rar ? Copy files as instructed and ignore the new executables ?

Btw is the tweaked executable with raised level limit for heroes usable with RTMG and NCF ? If yes, how ?

it's true, RTMG could have been with a little more complex interface about template.
as you said, get a startsize choice, a zone quantity choice, etc etc.
I think that the older version (before the beta) it was like that.
but I prefered to make a very easy interface where pratically all is random.
at least, you can redo the template generation (which is very fast) until time you reach exactly
or near of what you want because as you know there is a small template info window allowing to cancel.
at worst I think in 10 shots maximum you get it.

RTMG is not an editor. moreover, I don't want to support xml template creation for RTMG users.
that gives the xml code...so you CAN edit it. by using notepad or whatever.
then just to update yourself the RTMG_templates.pak file with the code having your modifications.

ohh. this message only appears when the UserMODs folder doesn't exist. just create it.
I didn't know that this message was still present. I will remove it in the next release.
that is not related with NCF procedure.
I think you're ok with that. moreover RTMG is able to start new exes himself.

yes it does. I will release a special NCF exe with raised level limit for heroes soon. (same time than next release)
that will be available from the master post.

I have a UserMODs folder but still get 'Wrong Version' if I choose H5_Game.NCF.exe with RTMGs menue->configuration

ok!

you must choose « H5_Game.exe »

the original exe is also important...to make random maps...

« H5_Game.NCF.exe » is only needed to play.

RTMG is able to run itself « H5_Game.NCF.exe »

moreover, I don't understand how you can see « H5_Game.NCF.exe »
in the menu/configuration...RTMG is not supposed to show it.

So RTMG is choosing the NCF exe if NCF is installed for play and the standard exe for map generation automatically and I only have to set the path to the standard exe, right ?

right.

when RTMG calls the game for creating a random map then it calls the original exe.

and when it calls for playing...depending if NCF are present it calls NCF exe or original...

note: if RPE exes are presents, it calls RPE exe instead of NCF.

Final Version 1.5 released

I released today 21th june 2010 the final version 1.5 for the RTMG.

This version is still 1.5.6

that has now all known bugs fixed.
So there will be no more release unless a major bug reported by an user.

Master post updated with all the new hyperlinks.

...and the adding of a MOD reducing Heroes level cap 25 to 40. (by BAD)
This MOD is a new NCF exe reachable from the part  « Others Downloads ».

Simonak,i lost all what i have on my hd,because my pc was broken,now after i reinstall H5 and the RTMG i have a load saves problem with the game.I have this problem before,if u remember u helped me last time.I have now  this problem again with the last version of RTMG.I want ask...  u can post the 1.5.5 ,because that worked perfect for me? thank you

An ultime final version 1.5.6 will come soon.

The next release will only allow to set how you want about the RTMG.pak contents.



If the 7 checkboxes are unchecked then there will be not RTMG.pak created.

for the « non-french/non-english » users,
you will be able to uncheck the text features for keeping your own language the most possible.

be ready for this upload.

I just finished a map generated by RTMG (thanks!).  I noticed two problems.

1.  The final map generation sometimes created a zero length file.  I believe this was after doing multiple runs attempting to tweak the map.   Problem was solved by exiting RTMG and starting over.

2.  The map generated (no underground, no water, 256x256) had multiple Sylvanna's Ancients (aka "upgrade Trees") that could not be used.  I suspect the problem was that something else was nearby and was blocking the entry point.

I am using 1.5.6, executable dated 11 April 2010. I am not using NCF.

I just noticed that you have (or soon will have) updated version 1.5.6.  Will either of these two problems be addressed?    Can you post a link to the download page?

the present version from master post is 1.5.6 of 21th june.

about both problems, none of version has fixed them for now.
but I will fix them in the next release that will happen soon.

the second problem is enough easy to fix, I have to add this object
in the list of objects that have to have a "resizing".

the first has the risk to be most complicated to fix..
but I will try.

If I run into the zero length file again, I'll try to be more specific about what the situation is.

Another thing I have noticed is that the RMG of ToE seems not to pay attention to the template in some respects.  Namely, I generated a 256x256 land only template and RMG built a map with water.  It seems that I need to go put check marks into all the RMG options as well as selecting the template from your program.

unfortunately, I can do nothing about to fix.
the RMG of ToE works like it.

just to recheck same options in the RMG of ToE.

What is "the load saves problem"?   I have a problem where ToE often crashes, especially on large maps, when I try to load from a save file while in a active session.  Annoying, but I can start ToE again and load the file ok.

Don't think this has anything to do with RTMG though.  I was getting the same problem on some large maps I had downloaded.

Suspect it is a memory leak problem.

i have this crash problem when i try load saves with any map ,no especially large.but with 1.5.5 is ok.i hope Simonak can fix this with 1.5.6 too
