Oh I see, i'm with you now.

As for the palace, I was half asleep when i did this, so feel free to make any changes you wish. I wanted to make a Oriental/Romanesque/Homm3 Fortress type of faction. Of course, this doesnt work out too well. I should just take out the Romanesque part and re-naga-nize the faction. Like I said make any changes you wish.

ok, fair enough, I suppose at a certain time, the brain doesn't work as well as it usually does.

Quote:

Sorry about the Sanctum thing too. I was also half asleep. I obviously thought that the new system was a pretty good original idea. Obviously not. I'll just revert back to the normal system.

I'm not saying the system can't work, but it just needed to be simplified down until we get to the bare essentials, and then build up from there.

Quote:

As for Necropolis big monsters, I was thinking that since they came out of the portal that there wouldn't much room for a bone dragon or something to walk through.

I'll try to revise other stuff and present the other factions later. For now, i need to go to school.

Necromancy is a very mobile art, so they could raise something bit this side of the portal as well? possibly.

if it is a micromanagement game, it only makes sense that you have a smaller number of tiers, as you get to focus on a smaller list of creatures and their strengths.

Okay, so we stick with six, but maybe we can make big guys like dragons and angels come as special creatures in campaigns, Holy Grails, and neutrals, like the Homm5 Phoenix kinda was. But, the Phoenix should still be Fey while the dragons can stay as rare super monsters.

You can find some good suggestions for towns from the ICTC ones in ICTC.  Some can be tweaked to your needs, I am sure if the person who made it was contacted they would be more then willing to assist/share their idea.

Oh yeah.  ICTC 2010 is not too far from now, hope to see some of your creations there .

ok,

The Corporation

dwarves and gnomes, whose entire motivation is profit. they live under the mountains, getting all manner of metals and ores, to create a soulless mechanised army in order to profit of the worlds mineral and organic resources.

lvl1: Iron Guards-> Steel sheilds/ Fortress guards/ Silver Guards
basic infantry for the corporation, Dwarves who are called up, equiped with standardised weaponary, including sheilds, axes and lamps, and go to protect their country.
lvl2: fussileer-> Greniadeer/ Orange hand/ Gold mask
Experienced soldiers grow to become fussileers. Scared, mad, they are the closest the corporation have to preachers, sending explosive devices at the enemy with shouts of "Uxulon be wealthy!"
lvl3: Musketeer-> Widow Maker/ Gunsire/ Gravefather
expert tinkerers. Musketeers are snipers to a scarily accurate degree. high-powered rifles and patience in spades, Musketeers always get their mark.
lvl4: Experimental team-> Tunneling team/ Bombard team/ anti-magic team
all inventors in the Corporation need people to test it out on. the Experimental teams are the high-risk, high-excitement, minimum pay that most gnomes love. it's a shame the applicants aren't around for long.
lvl5: War walker-> mechanical gunner/ Iron Ram/ steam fortress
War walkers stomp across the landscape on iron feet and boiler-powered legs. incredibly tough, reasonably fast.
lvl6: Mechanical beast-> jugganaut/ doom owls/ Iron dragon
these flying monstrousities are the corporations latest endevour, and it pays off so well. enemies dead, garunteed (we do not hold accountablity for safety of pilot, crew, or anyone underneath)

Palace:
lvl1: gamabanti warriors -> Gamabanti chosen/ gamabanti veterans/ gamabanti wardens (toad-like minion)
lvl2: student -> apprentice/ innates/ new blood (weak spellcaster)
lvl3: Rocketeers -> seasoned rocketeers/ Fire dancers/ Arquebus (shooter using fireworks)
lvl4: medusa swordswoman-> priestess of blades/ templar of Duels/ Ritualist of the edge (medusa wtih lots of swords)
lvl5: seer -> farseer/ Kiriga/ Itako (very strong spellcaster)
lvl6: blue dragon -> azure dragon/ pearl dragons/ tide dragon (dragon)

Yeah, I'd agree...

but on the other hand, some corporations can be very scary.

I was going to include some cool stuff in the palace's lore. it's a Naga faction, so I can understand where your coming from. anyway, my idea quickly:

in the Palace, there are two cults of the empress and the goddess, the Sirens, and the Medusa. the Sirens are the peaceable ones, who don't want to fight, due to beleiveing that peace can only be ensured due to diplomacy. The Medusas, on the other hand, are the more war-like cult, entwining snakes into their hair is their signature feature, and beleive that peace can only be ensured by destroying your enemies. Hence, why they focus on swords and swordswomanship, bushido and honour.

usually bushido or war like nations tend to be more male dominated, but this could be a cool new thing going on

generally, Naga have stranger sex divides. females are usually active, whilst males are usually passive. most of the units are female, as they dominate both the medusa cult (no guesses why) and the shrines of magic, with the exception of the rocketeer, whose a pipe-smoking, basa-hat wearing male naga with fireworks on his back.

the citedal may take a while, as I'm busy sorting out unit organisation etc etc, but it will be coming soon

by the way, what did you think of the corporation?

well... maybe a little...

sheep riders are a legitimate unit... considering we are talking about halflings, who probably only get on a sheep to ride.

the society worships a indigo gluttonous goddess, so, chef's might be the closest thing they have to a shaman or a priest.

I don't know...

Boars and Rams tend to be violent creatures, which doesn't suit the halflings that well. they are, by and large, a peaceful race, and wouldn't really bred anything to be threatening. Besides, the meat from boars and rams are as tasty to a halfling palate.

as I say, the society is based on eating and food. would there be a position higher than a chef?
