You could not be further from the truth. Some games are an experience by themselves and this one has things that stay with you. Less replay value than heroes or has it? It allows modules like nwn if you didn't know.

Found some pics of Geralt from the leaked video.

He looks better than before imo. Less supermodel and more scarred veteran

EDIT: Btw did you notice how they used Mass Effect's dialogue system in the trailer? It's a system that shows you the intention of the reply instead of the actual words.

So instead of reading 5 rows of text and finally deciding what you want to say, you can instead just press the button that says e.g. "you treacherous snow" and Geralt will say that, but with more words.

Good progress I say. Hope they'll keep it.

But you do agree he looks more badass now right?

I like how his scars are more pronounced, and the new hairstyle is cool too.

Certainly needed some change to keep things fresh. Like the dialogue during boss fights, looks well implemented. Meanwhile I finished the two extra adventures and restarted the game to try a magic build, works lovely so far *stun* *coup de grace*

Certainly shows HOW much easier and smoother things go when you know how to deal with them. Plus this time I know the locations and don't waste time running around.

They made The Witcher a very easy game, to be honest. Definitively among the easiest I've ever played. I really hope second part will be much, MUCH harder

Something awesome happened while I was playing The Witcher a few minutes ago...

I was walking around in the swamp looking for things to kill, and suddenly a bunch of Drowners pop up.

"No biggie" I think and draw my silver sword. Then a few more pop up, and then some more, and some more drowners, out of the same hole

Suddenly there's at least 15 drowners coming at me, I've never faced so many creatures at once in this game! Fortunately my sword was covered in Argentia (+60 % damage IMBA!) so I killed all of them off with two sword combinations (!)

Felt awesome.

EDIT: I agree with Doomforge though, it's extremly easy once you know how to handle Alchemy correctly. There's a potion for everything.

SPOILER: For example, I had big problems with Azar Javed (last fight with him) cuz he kept knocking me down, then I tried the Willow potion and he was a piece of cake

I've gotten soft, because I kind of like being able to fly through my games. I had to reload a dozen times or so, so it wasn't that easy, albeit some of it was over dumb stuff. I also played on medium.

I've never played the same RPG twice, and as awesome as the Witcher was, I probably won't have the urge to play this one twice either.

@Elvin: I haven't done the special scenarios yet. I've been doing other stuff.

You aren't missing anything outstanding but I rather liked them. Javed was easier than I thought the first time, he just had a lot of health But I had used a few potions for good measure, I think wolverine and swallow?

I used Willow + Wolf... increased critical hits ya know.

I've learnt how powerful Rubedo is now though. Rubedo Tawny Owls is one of my favourite potions now, Vitality and Endurance regeneration with low toxicity. It pretty much makes swallow redundant.

The 17th... not too long unil release

Armwrestling dwarves!

I'm a bit annoyed by the constant rolling around in combat... but I guess it's mostly because of the player's style.

The only question for me is whether to order now or to wait for the game to be released first (I may have difficulties taking the delivery...). The game is just a must, no matter that it has a more console feeling than the original - something that I usually don't support. For me it's more of a movie or a novel than a game anyway.
By the way, the books are the real deal. Among the best sagas I've ever read and in this regard my standards are very high.

Gonna see how much all the editions will cost first...

I mean... **** The collector's edition is beyond epic.

The game
The Making Of The Witcher DVD
The Soundtrack CD
Awesome etui for the game
Map of the world
Game guide
Game manual
Pamphlet and coin
Papercraft figurines
Additional DLC
Artbook (200 pages!)
GERALT HEAD SCULPTURE IN MARBLE IMITATION!!!
Dwarven dice set
Cards guide
The Witcher stickers
Temerian coin
Playing cards
Awesome thick cardboard box with Witcher medallion art to contain all the awesome.

I mean... wow a fricking statuette. That's collector's material alright. Fanseeervice!

EDIT: I fricking hate it when they vary the DLC depending on what vendor you buy the game from though... though I guess in time it'll all become available for free.

EDIT2: I'll probably get the premium edition... it has enough goodies without costing twice as much. The nordic version gets 3 more papercraft figurines and swordsmaster outfit too

Pre-ordered now. Can't ****ing wait.

I watched the combat trailer and Geralt can use throwing knives! And you have to aim with them yourself! Awesome, I'll be using those...

Btw, this is one badass elf.

Iorweth is a (very) minor character in the books, a mere Scoia'tael band leader during the war between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms, it's curious why they chose him.
I'm more interested in that pile of muscles, the so called Kingslayer. On the web-site it's mentioned that Geralt knows him but the only person that roughly matches his appearance is Dijkstra, the head of the Redanian intelligence who is not on friendly terms with the non-humans at all (but forms an uneasy alliance with another Scoia'tael leader anyway). On the other hand, in the end of the books he's on the trail of king Vizimir's murderers and eventually could have a reason to want a few kings dead. It will be nice to see him in the game, he's an interesting character.

Another statue head?

Jeez, my house will soon look like a palace with all these busts

Btw, will the collectors edition be the complete thing?

Cause if I remember right only the czech special edition thing got ALL the stuff that was made for the first

I'm definitely not keeping a statuette of Geralt in my room Would it even be made out of stone? A plastic or rubbery mold would be kind of tacky.

I love the cinematics I've seen so far. They do a really nice job with the atmosphere and dialogue.

Miminum System Requirements:

   * OS: Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista SP2 / Windows 7 (32/64-bit)
   * Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+
   * Memory: 1 GB Windows XP / 2 GB Windows Vista and Windows 7
   * Video Card: 512 MB RAM, supporting Pixel Shader 3.0 (Nvidia GeForce 8800 or ATI Radeon HD3850)

Recommended System Requirements:

   * OS: Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista SP2 / Windows 7 (32/64-bit)
   * Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad or AMD Phenom X4
   * Memory: 3 GB Windows XP / 4 GB Windows Vista and Windows 7
   * Video Card: 1 GB RAM, supporting Pixel Shader 3.0 (Nvidia GeForce GTX260 or ATI Radeon HD4850)

I meet all the recommended requirements 'cept for the quadcore... me haz a dual one.

Overall the requirements are surprisingly modest though. Nice.

EDIT: Oh btw, on this page I've commented a while ago that I liked the more scarred look of Geralt in the new game, this was because when I played the Witcher the first time my graphics were set so low that Geralt's skin looked smooth haha
