Well the concept of socialism in itself is not bad, it's just that the people that run it tend to be either misguided or corrupt politicians. Socialism is good in theory, but not in practice.

Well, the concept of everybody is equal and happy and gets the same good stuff sounds good to a lot of people. But it ends up in real life from turning from a utopia to a dystopia.

and in some way's isn't that was capitalism is, having as good a chance as the next guy to acheiving what you want?
actually not at all. You have the right to achieve what the next guy has too, but you don't necessarily (in MOST cases) have the opportunity or chance at all...

As true as that may be, it does make entrepreneurs work harder to create something more original that the populace would like, creating more jobs for more people. Don't forget that these huge corporations that we have now started off as small businesses as well (most of them at any rate).

Socialism, like anarchy, has one problem.

It looks interesting on paper, but relies on the unrealistic assumption that people will not be people.

That already fits the bill. If they need more people to work for them, how can those "more people" even do what they did: i.e start a business?

A world full of CEOs is not going to produce anything, I tell you that.
And there's not enough funds at all to even start as many businesses, so saying that EVERYONE has the chance makes as much sense as saying everyone has the equal chance to be born in a specific building.

Socialism has been the only thing that kept capitalöism going. I mean - when was the last time you were harrassed by a horde of beggars when shopping in a mall, begging you to give, following ayou down the street and so on?
Socialism takes the edge off of capitalism by making sure that no one can fall below a certain economic minimim.
The great German chancellor Bismarck once said - way back in 19. century - that you can keep the socialists in check only by fulfilling their justified demands.
Since then we have a mix of socialism and capitalism, depending on the country more or less socialism, but face it:

Without this, without the socialist elements, capitalism would have ceased to exist in most countries due to revolutions or a shortage of buyers.

Welfare state is not the same thing as socialism. A limited welfare state may be desirable. But actual socialism isn't.

capitalism leads to corporatism in a very straight way in real life, unfortunately

and socialism leads to either communism or other regime of some sort.

Both systems have strong points on paper but yeah, people are just people.

And both of their degenerated forms are bad. But tbh, I still prefer corporatism (the current state) over socialistic regime (the previous state of Poland). At least I don't have to stand in line for like a day to buy some ham.

Still, corporatism sucks.

Capitalism won't degenerate into corporatism if we have a well-informed, long-sighted citizenry.

Precisely.

To make any system work like it was intended to, people would have to be two levels smarter and aware than they are right now.

Otherwise, we will always end up with a degenerated form.

So, yeah, while capitalism's degenerated form sucks, it's still the best of all of them, most likely.
