I followed all the instructions on this page to bump my resolution up to 1920x1080 but I still seem to be having issues. I'm running the complete pack that I downloaded from gog. Whenever I run Heroes3HDSetup when the main menu pops up it says that I am missing the Shadow of Death cd. Well, obviously I don't have the cd. I also extracted the files from the archive SoD3.2 to the Homm3 game folder.

Am I doing something wrong? Please help.

Double posting...

I have files in the Homm3 directory called Heroes32.exe_HD and Heroes32. They both give me the "insert disc" error when I try to run them.

Also when I run the Heroes3HDSetup it makes me pick Heroes32 from a list (only choice available). Then when I click launch I get the error.

Alright, well sorry for the double post, hoping someone can help though, I feel like I am just missing a small piece of the puzzle here.

OS: Win 7 64b - Heroes Complete edition

So far, been using the 1680 x 1050 resolution, and it's awesome.

Great job

I think Baratorch will never make patch without disc check. If he'll make it, it'll be equal to piracy. Nobody wants to have a problems, so better to you to find iso of H3 disc in internet and mount it with daemon tools or alcohol 120%.

Is there any chance of supporting the GOG.com release of Heroes 3 Complete in the future?  It's one of the most convenient ways to legally buy the game right now, but the patch doesn't recognize the executables (and trying the Heroes32.exe posted here just gets me a CD check error).  :^(

SAG, well, maybe it should, but it won't detect main exe in the game folder :-(
I hope this will be fixed (if this bug is on the list)

version 1.99 requires MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (4 MB). If it will not help try MS Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (2.6 MB)

Thank you for making the GoG pack.  This is awesome!

I did find two bugs in the patch program, though, and they both involve WoG.  If I have WoG installed before I apply this patch, it creates HD exes for both h3wog.exe and Heroes32.exe, but if I try to run Heroes32.exe_HD.exe, it can't find a number of sprite resources (iam_001.def, iam_002.def, etc) when h3wog.exe_HD.exe works fine.  If I run Heroes3HDSetup.exe a second time, both work fine.

The other problem I found is that if I install WoG after installing the HD patch, h3wog.exe_HD.exe can't find those same resources or some other ones like _frame.pcx no matter how many times I run Heroes3HDSetup.exe.

It took me a while to figure out how to get it working with WoG (install HoMM3 and WoG first, then install the HD patch and run Heroes3HDSetup.exe a second time), but it works great now and the patch program works perfectly if WoG isn't installed.

Could you please consider looking into what's this out for a future release, though?  It took me a long time to figure out that I had to run the patch a second time to get everything working and other people are probably going to be confused about it, too.

Edit: Oh, I'm on Windows 7 x64, if that matters.
