comic writing
hi all.
I would just like to say that I, and a few friends, are in the process of writing a comic together. sorry, Graphic novel. it's a story that is basically a slasher for superheroes, or gods.
the basic story is that earth is under the control of two types of totem gods, the titans and the tricksters, both of who are able to destroy each other. whilst the former have grown and become powerful, decadent, truly scum of the earth, the tricksters have all fled underground, for fear of what happened to their fellows (fairly brutal deaths).
we pick up the story from Crow, an avian trickster god, a dour and bold scotsman who enjoys what happens a bit too much. called up by a shadowy organisation called "The mythics", he is ordered to get the Tricksters back together and lessen the population of Titans in order to preserve world balance (by whatever means necessary).
Teaming up with him are Fox, a witty, charming, lecherous japanese conman, Cat, an arabian weapons merchant with a pertention for flamethrowers, Bat, a fat scandinavian goth girl with a more vile mouth than ozzy osbourne, Spider, a African hermit, as well as all manner of others.
so far, it's been pretty fun, we've managed to figure out what will happened where and all that. there are some pretty cool scenes, like where the team have to butcher an entire frat house in order to find the demi-titan faol, or where porn starlet lioness gets murdered on a shoot. it's fantastically gorey, horrifically messy and with more people getting what they deserved than the karma wheel can cope with. brutal, funny (hopefully) and thought provoking about how the little man fights back.
yeah, it's fun.
oh and
"Please, don't do this to me! Please! Look, I'll give you whatever you want! Money? I'll double what their paying you! Women? Men if you go that way? I can get them as young or old as you like! Drugs, I've got plenty! weapons? please, tell me what you want so I can live!"
"Lad, the thing I most want..."
"YeS?!"
"is to put you in the grave."
