Owlbears shall have regeneration ability while their upgrade also has a chance to poison.

Not sure about the hippogriffs to be honest. The Ettins are immune to blind as they have two heads so one gets blind the other can still see, so I guess that makes sense, hehe.

I might make the crossbowman a little more different from the Archer, but having the Monk is not a good idea I think. It is a total copy of the Hobbits head and the Druid clothing. While the Crossbowman/Marksman has a different head, a different weapon, and a slightly different armour. To make him even more different from the Archer I could maybe make him a little more gold. This way he will still fit as the paladin is golden but differ more from the other ranger.

hmm maybe, i do like that the Knights don't get a flying unit (as well as the Barbarians in the original HoMM2)

i would have personally preferred it that not all creatures could be upgraded (in true HoMM2 style! =D), so that it became more of a franchise for the Knights to upgrade almost everything, but heroes like the Warlocks to upgrade very little (and still somehow end up spending more gold than the Knights).

Maybe the hippogriff could have unlimited retaliations (just like the griffin)?

Hippogriffs are too similar to griffins... and they even use the Heroes I griffin sprite. Plus, they're kind of redundant when you've already got the rocs.

Why not consider the Rakshasa?


If you're going to borrow from Heroes VI, might as well do so from V, as well. It's not like there are many other creatures that would fit very well with the Wizard, anyway.

Here are a few of the "completed" creatures I made for my game, which is similar to the one you guys are working on but is more for my own enjoyment.  I'm actually working on a Rakshasha right now, and like the Naga, it is taking longer than my other creatures to animate.  I can send it along if you're interested in it for your wizard town.

Have you guys considered incorporating creatures from entire Might and Magic universe (i.e., Gates to Another World, Clouds of Xeen, etc.)? That's sort of what I'm going for.

Amazing. I love the Anubis-style character and the mage. And that guy with the wolf thing on his head, like, totally could've been made by NWC and would make a bad ass sharpshooter.


I have absolutely no authority in this mod (even though I made a few forgotten contributions, *cough*), but that would sweet. You should totally do it.

E-Lysander, I made the Marksman a little different from the Ranger now. He hasnt got the feather but a golden thing on his helmet, also I changed his boots to gray so they look less alike. I tried to make his clothes gold but it didnt fit with the other Knight creatures. The Crossbowman will also have gray boots.

So here how he looks now compared to the Ranger:

I love this mod but I have to agree with that it feels very weird that the Knight has two ranged creatures which are almost the same. Maybe you could add the Glory from H6? Their flashy animations would probably be fun to make. =P
Alternatively, the Hippogriff could get moved to Knight, while Wizard get something like the Rakshasa or Naga instead (since it's weird for them to have two bird units)

I think Knight should have only humans in his armies, no flying and no magical. Exactly like it used to be in H2. In my opinion Crossbowman is preety much OK, but I would prefer some kind of cannon or maybe siege engine instead (at level 5, swordsman moved at lvl 4)

A lack of flying units for the Knights will render them tactically disadvantaged. If we're to go by the logic that they shouldn't have flying units because they didn't originally, then you might as well replace the Harpy in the Barbarian armies with something else, too.

Adding a new unit to each race is going to be full of fan input, though, rather than tactical input on the most part (especially since new units aren't really necessary).

Oh, this was my idea which I had to create a completely new townscreens to give the mod a different feeling but also it would feel like a totally new HoMM game. After all Im not too sure about this but maybe I will finish this idea in the future.

The concept was to have the landscape wider and to have the buidlings smaller. This would give a perspective that its not just a small village but a whole "city" like in HoMM5.

What you posted here from my Deviant art is about 15-20% part of the whole townscreen.

Well if you're including the three levels for the Dragon, you may want to remove the upgrades for a lot of the other creatures, to keep it in the theme :3

That could be the worst suggestion in this thread. The point is to give each creature an upgrade. If you want to play H2, go play it. It's great. This is a H2 mod for H3...
