Excellent work =D
Love the addition of the Harpy to the Barbarians
So how much work is left so far?
I was thinking with regards to the Conflux race that perhaps a new race using the Heroes 2 Elementals (and adding upgrades, of course) could be possible, following the original theme of the race itself. Of course, this would mean a lot more work than you already have, so I don't know whether or not this is a good suggestion :/

Great Job! Keep it up!

The Bishop and the Harpy are looking good, but in this case you should take the Harpy at level 3 with this abilities if it is possible. (or not)

What is the next step if you complete all the creatures and castles?
Maybe the adventure map?

Is there any way to play and test this mod on 24th dec? This is the best present for me!

Just want to say that i Play heroes 3 because modding options. But I find Sound, Musical and Graphics a lot better the ones of heroes 2.

Having said that I would prefer style to be more homogeneous than half and half which is probably how things will end like.

In any case, amazing job there.

This sounds a bit confusing to me. What exactly do you mean by making it more homogeneous? As in what areas?

This is actually a really good idea. I wanted to do something like this a very long time ago but alas I don't have the skills to do such a thing. Very well done.

I, for one, prefer the earlier parts of the series for the consistency, athmosphere and clean pixel art. It's retro now and retro is fashionable. The smeared high-res imitations and pre-rendered sprites are not retro yet. They aren't as charming. When I had a retro lan with a bunch of old friends we played Heroes II (though it worked terribly and eventually bugged down) rather than Heroes 3. We would have played part 1 but there the network gaming wouldn't even start up.

We ended up playing a real time strategy game about the Lord of the Rings. You see, my friends are big fans of literature. For some reason they prefer depth and charm to bright robot-like armors, to oversized weapons and even to tremendously large tits that dominate the gaming industry of today.

Too bad we were not aware of your project. Is it done yet? We all yearn for the final release.

Do you have anything akin to a website? I'd love to see your Witches and Heretics or what your new units are about. If you need help in placing pixels, ask away.

For inspirations I would recommend you to King's Bounty. It is the original heroes game. I wonder why it isn't represented on Age of Heroes. It is HOMM0.

In HOMM1 the monsters were made fancy, they got animated and evenly distributed to the 3 new "Races", 2 of them inspired by the original player characters.

King's Bounty would suggest "Militia" as a viable upgrade for "Peasants". Personally I find the "Mutant", "Lord" or "Chieftain" prefixes added in HOMM2 rather cheesy. It would make a fine point to give the peasant a golden sickle making him a "Peasant King" (keep the other tools for the workers).

Another place to look would be Age of Wonders. It's "Sorceresses" had "Treeman" tanks and charming nymphs. I wonder if it is doable.

The undead knights were there as well. The harpies... could they be made flying archers? HOMM3 flyers are not the quite same. Tweak Gargoyles, Gryphons and Rocs?

You're the artist, the fate of your Gesamtkunstwerk is for you to decide. Cheers, looking forward, etc..

So, how far is this project away from completion? And how far from it reaching a beta stage? Will we be able to test the beta stage? Cause that would be sweeeeeet.

I agree that the 'Mutant' prefix was cheesy, but I liek chieftain (as a suffix), and I don't mind Lord for Vampires =D

Quoted for snowin' truth. I know most people prefer Heroes III, but I always have and always will prefer Heroes II. I think it makes sense for every creature to not have an upgrade.

The style we see today is rooted in nothing but pseudo-modernism. It's supposed to be in some semblance of medieval times, but the style is very modern. Interesting. Large tits (speaking for myself as a heterosexual male), though appealing to my primal sexual nature, is something I get in porn. I don't need it in my video games. In such a time, revealing clothes and sexual appeal weren't in as much favour as they are today. Sure, you can say that goblins, orcs and demons don't exist either, but its nice to have some consistency.

If I had the modeling capability, you better believe that I would finish my "Heroes of Might and Magic: Classic" mod (a mod which attempted to restore the vintage feel of the original, pre-Heroes V series). But Ubisoft's take is such that a new, unique (debatable) style, which I for one think is a shame. I've said previously, (definitely not a favourable position on a forum which features game developers) that Ubisoft seems more concerned with "selling out" to the modern 2010 market by having sexually-appealing and modern, shiny armoured soldiers than retaining an, at the surface, cliched style. Which I would point out is virtually unheard of in today's market. Virtually every game developer is vying for a "unique" modernistic approach... no one is retaining that vintage "widows-peek vampire" medieval style. I would've thought that the Heroes series would be the perfect franchise in which to carry this tradition on, but it seems Ubisoft feels otherwise. Something tells me 3D0/NWC would feel similarly, but sadly I'm easily shut up by the defunct nature of that company.

I must say, this is amazing... Heroes II appearance and sounds with added Heroes III features. This latest video literally has me more excited than I am for Heroes VI. I've been playing Heroes II since I was 6-years-old, and I thought Heroes III did some things better but lacked the Heroes II charm.

I beg of you to finish this mod.

Apart from the fact it looks pretty funny, that is.
