Disturbing news.

A bit of caution here, this is a very disturbing thing.  Part of me at first thought it some sort of hoax.  Surely human beings would not just sit around watching, and some taking pictures of a girl being raped.  While somebody finally did report it, the articles indicate that she was raped over 2 hours, by multiple people.  In fact it goes on to suggest that some of the people who stopped to watch joined in.

Here are a couple of links to what I am talking about.

First there was the Ft Hood incident, then the copycat shooting, now this?  What in the heck is going on?!

I thought it was illegal not to report of a crime at all, not only against a child...

Stuff like this happens too often, at halloween a girl were gangraped on the dancefloor in a nightclub without anyone doing anything about it. People are afraid of getting "in trouble" it seems.

This pedophilia issue is huge in here, as almost a month ago, a pissed father shot two people that he suspected of raping his 5yo. I don't remember all the details, but it seems that his wife(along with her sister) sold the girls to the creeps. It sickens me.

Life is.
Deal with it.

We had a man beaten to death by a few other guys while hundred or so others were just watching. Somebody called the police after he was dead. Why should people care? It's not like it's their problem.

Things like these have been happening for a long time. They just get out more often and media gives them more time now.

This is an invidualist society that lives in the moment so no one cares about what happens to others. If it doesn't concern them now and there they won't care.
Who can we blame?
Ourselves.

Vargas credits leadership classes taken at Richmond High with teaching her to know the right thing to do in the situation.

"Welcome to the leadership class, children. Ok, who can tell me whether gang rape is wrong? Katie?"

"May I go to the bathroom?"

"Certainly. But if you get gang raped on the way there, will that be ok?"

"I don't know... I don't think so..."

"Excellent! Has anyone here ever been gang raped? Charlie?"

"Well when I was 5, this priest..."

"Nono, Charlie, that's singular rape. We're talking gang rape here."

"Oh."

"Alright, when you see someone gang raped, what will you do?"

"...Join them?"

"No, Adam, that's what black people would do. Are you black? Do you want people to regard you as black?"

"No..."

"So what would you need to do if you saw a white girl being gang raped?"

"Take photographs?"

"No, that neither."

"Call the police!"

"Bravo, Jimmy! Well, you all deserve an A for your effort. Ok, children, for your homework, I'd like to see an essay titled 'Why I would rather call the police than take photographs in the case of gang rape'."

I guess some folks skipped class.

Well, the Fort Hood incident was a radical Islamic terrorism. The shooter had a website praising suicide bombers and said things justifying terrorism to the soldiers on the base and that Muslims should "rise up against the oppressors." At the time of the shooting he yelled, "Allah is greatest." And of course he is a traitor to his nation since he sided with the terrorists and turned his back on the US.

If not for political correctness, the shooter would have been thrown out of the military long ago. Political correctness kills.

Yeah, I can't imagine knowing a woman was being raped and standing by and doing nothing. But kids are taught there is no right or wrong, which contributes to such things in my opinion.

The black death used to kill people, smallpox used to kill heaps of people .. we did something about it. It's just to make one goddamn phonecall, how hard can that be?

And Elodin, kids nowadays are still tought there is something right and wrong ... they just don't get to know that they go to hell if they don't do as a dusty old book says.

This thread is NOT about religion/bible. Just a reminder to all.

On topic, I have really no idea how things like that happen. I won't lie - I probably wouldn't help people in need most of the time, but seeing something like that and not doing a damn thing... that's just wrong.

I thought you were against State-God type of system worship. You accuse communists of having to "worship the system", yet you don't allow someone to spit on the US cause he'll be a "traitor". Sounds to me like you want them to 'worship' the US.

Mystical asked "What in the heck is going on?!" I said what I think is going on.

The Fort Hood incident is definately domestic terrorism by a traitor who chose to become a Muslim terrorist. The things I referenced are proof of that and there are more things coming out that prove it as well.

Yeah, people have the right to burn flags and "spit on the US." Although a an active duty military person does not have that right and no one has the right to murder.

He killed 13 soldiers who trusted him as a US officer. He betrayed the US and sided with Islamic terrorists. Hopefully he will be tried under the Uniform Code of Military Justice as a traitor and murderer and get the death penalty. He should not be tried in civilian courts since he was active duty military.

We have been over this.  "Muslim" or "Islam" is an excuse.  Nothing more.  Holding one belief system responsible for what an individual does and not holding another belief system responsible for what an individual does is a Double Standard.

Unfortunately there are too many 'excuses'.

I never said all of Islam is guilty. But the fact is that he is an Islamic terrorist not just some loon. There has been an ongoing war against Islamic terrorits in case you have not noticed.

The officer in question sought out contact with Al Qaeda.

ABC News

Quote:
As officials advance the investigation into the Army Major who allegedly perpetrated last week's massacre at Fort Hood , attention is turning to Anwar al Awlaki, a top al Qaeda recruiter who was in contact with Major Nidal Malik Hasan before last week's shootings.

Awlaki, a charismatic American Muslim imam, now operates a jihadist web site out of Yemen that calls on all Muslims to wage war against the U.S. Officials say Hasan had between 10 and 20 contacts with Awlaki beginning late last year.

U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Hasan was attempting to make contact with Awlaki, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

According to the officials, the Army was informed of Hasan's contact, but it is unclear what, if anything, the Army did in response.

"Awlaki is known as a senior recruiter for al Qaeda," former FBI agent Brad Garrett, now an ABC News consultant, told Nightline. "He would be the spiritual motivator. Almost like someone you would go to and say, 'this is what I'm thinking about doing.' And they join in and encourage you and basically help you rationalize your behavior."

Political correctness is the reason he was not kicked out of the army.

No Angelito, think that is more Patriotism.  It is 'uncool' and 'politically incorrect' any more to be have Patriotism in America I know.  However, although I know America has some issues, problems, and has a long way to go..I can identify with the sentiment.

People see the idiots, the politicians, and such and dislike all Americans because of them.  Some of us don't waste, hate, or think we are better then everybody.  Some of us will welcome you as a brother or sister should you visit us in our home.

So yeah when somebody comes in and kills our people, under whatever pretense, we get a bit upset.
