Dwarven Age: Origins(Idea discusion)
Hey there, no doubt you have been lured here by the awesome title into this thread ye?
This is simply testing the waters to see if anyone would enjoy something like this, and yes i am ripping off a bunch of people in the making of this.
Let me explain a little on this RP.
You get a character. Thats right, you RECEIVE a character, you dont make it. This saves us both time and the pain it takes to invent a new character. I assure you that the characters I have here will be more than sufficient. And After all Role Playing is about acting like someone else, it tests Adaptation skills, and how many of you can act like a smelly dwarf that drinks beer and fights battles?
Another thing, we focus on dwaves, dwarven culture, and acting very silly as dwarves.
You can take care of all the little things about your character, his favorite drink, his name, his best joke/trick, and deeper stuff like emotions. How the game goes is that I am the DDM, The Dwarf Dungeon Master. You all will end up in the same place that will be revealed at a later date. Anything can happen here, expect the unexpected. To the smart reader, You have noticed the name is copied off of Dragon Age: Origins. It will include some of the same Social Mechanics but the combat system Is still under work, any help/ system suggestion would GREATLY help. All the Moral/Dialog choices are controlled by me. The actions behind all of this is like a rpg but with my own spin on it.
Some Characters I have available:
Name: I am real lazy at making up names so just write something you think represents this guy.
Age: 20
Origin: You from a poor family and have lived your life among the slums, your sister turned to prostitution as a way to help the family and oddly enough her “sacrifice” proved to have been the only thing paying your family debt down. The slum is the closest place to the Deep Ends, therefore it is the coldest place underground. Dwarfs have deep pockets, but not for storing money.
Background: You have always liked to have a couple of beers with your friends after working in the Deep Ends. Like most fellow dwarfs you've been working in the Deep Ends when you were eighteen. 2 years and the practice has gone unbroken, every day after 8 hours of mining out precious ores and gem stones you get leave and you and four of your most trusted buddies go into the best bar in the area and drink enough beer to put some heat back into your cheeks. Its real cold in the Deep Ends and if not for the freezing cold, your parents would have sent you off to mine sooner. Some people speculate that your sisters vocation is what causes you to go off into the bar and lose yourself among the yells and loud music the dwarfs are known for. If that is true, only you know for sure...
Current status: You are once again in that fateful bar, The Gold Throwers Tavern. You enter the bar. This time however there is a dwarfet siting at the bar, all alone. After much drink and a well placed dare you go to talk to her.
Would you be interested in playing something like this? Do you have issues with the very strict idea of handling the RP?
