I'm all for symbolism. I love it in Anime&Manga that the characters often use their signs and symbols, it's really cool.
But yeah.. it should have a powerful meaning. I'm working on my own symbol and I'll get a custom pendant when I'm done.
But as for the tatoo, that has to be something really serious. That's why I thought about the cross; I guess my faith won't change, and since I've watched Hellsing, I think they are pretty badass

If it's "all about you" then why ask other people? Tattoos are a cosmetic frivolity just like anything else, and they're not permanent if you don't want it anymore bad enough.

Take a henna tattoo first.
That way you can see how it looks and if you'll like it after a while too.

If you do want a wolf's head, maybe you should go for something more naturalistic and a little less...cheesy...

Ever thought of a manowar tattoo? they are just awesome!
a few examples(just typ them in google);
-the sign of the hammer
-the triumph of steel
-kings of metal
-hell on earth(1-5)
-gods of war

this on my neck perhaps, the opposite side gatts had his though. but not this color and detail, the symbol itself,
I would probably go heavy with this color and a little dark red outline
berserk Manga, tied first place my favorite movie with I am Legend
