You'd need some further diversity with towns if each faction can vary from evil, neutral, and good. It's an exciting concept but it would involve some work.

Take the current Sylvan faction for example. You could get by with having that be a neutral town, but an evil town with that creature line-up would be dumb. You could easily have an evil Sylvan town that embodies the feral aspect of nature, but werewolves, hyenas, ettins, and other such creatures would have be thrown in to make it thematically sound. I made a faction in the Finding Harmony thread based around the Wendol from folkore, and that would be a good example of what I'm talking about.

Haven would be much easier: with the majority of units being human they're alignments can be anything; you just need to switch the angels to some sort of powerful being of darkness.

It wouldn't work with Inferno since they're inherently inclined towards evil. A good aligned demon faction would just be ghey, although really I think that faction should be reworked to a fiery theme rather than a strictly demonic one. I love Inferno, but an all demon faction takes up a lot of room.

Well, I was thinking that the upgrades would be changed from just your basic peasant to a brute instead of a conscript for example. As for Inferno, why should they be strictly evil? Maybe its the other faction's perception of them being evil, not them being inherently evil. Like for example, there's an angel, but then there's a fallen angel, so why not make demons, and risen demons?

Well Mass Effect 2 solves this by using a saved game from the first game and applying them to the new one. Thus all decisions made in the first game affects Mass Effect 2.

Can't see why the Heroes series can't have something similar. In fact, for a strategy game that would be rather unique.

I don't find it likely that they'll actually do it but it's a nice idea. H7 is kinda far away though...

Campaigns have never been that important for me with Heroes - it's always been a single-map game for me, and the power of the game lies in the replayability.

That being said, it should not be impossible to have choices from one campaign having impact on the others. In fact, since campaigns are already locked until you finish previous ones, this should be something that was very easy to implement.

I remember way back from playing Indiana Jones - Fate Of Atlantis (still the greatest adventure game ever imo) which was released in 1992 (!) and had such a feature by opening different game paths depending on the decisions you made at certain keypoints, so technically, it should be possible and making it more refined now almost 20 years later.

teah, it sounds good...

i like the possibility of many diferent ends,

great great great!
think about it!
think... if the mage on the first campain help so save a city from the volcan ther lord of the  city will hepl him in the second campaing destroing the mage's enemies... the playes as the lord of the city...
, but if he goes and the the all-mighty-uber-over-powered-magical-staff on the volcano and let the city be destroeid the lord will chase him, and the secodn camping will be about the mage fightin hios enemies and the lord of the destroied city... the playes as the evil guys, and at the end the mage dies...
if the mage survive he help the elves, but he will be caught by the enemy, and the elven hero has to chosse between save the mage or protect the capital.
but if the mage dies in the second, he cant help the elves in the 3rd caipaing, and the elven hero have to choose between flee or die fightin...

if he chosse save the mage, at the 4th campain the humans help the elves to recapture the capital, and the human hero is tampted to become a necromancer, he shold accept, or not.
but if the mage wasnt saved, the mage will be turned to evil side, and the human gheor at the and have to chosse if he kill the mage or not
but if the mage is alread dead and the elves flee the playes play as the darfs, the next to be attakcked by the evil guys, and the necromancers offers help, and the hero has to choose if he accepst or not.
if the elven hero died another elven hero will talk to the dwarf and forge an alliance, and then they have to chosse if they will accept the help of necromancers...

1at the 5th if the elven capital is recaptures and the human hero become a necromancer he fights the evil guy as necromancer, betray the elves, dwarves and the mage, and become an powerful darklord, and the game ends here.
2if the human hero dont become a necromancer the alliance elves-hgumans-dwarf-the mage defeat all the evil guys and the necromancers, and peace and live reign the world!
3if the mage wasnt saved and the hero kill him, the mage servants join the veil guys, and at the end the war stops with a diplomaic accord.
4if the mage wasnt killed he refuse to help any side, and the mages become neutral, the dwarven capil is destroyesd, and after fierce batlles the good side win.
5if the elven hero has flee and the mage is already dead, and the dwarfs acept the help of necromancers, they defeat the evil guys, but the necomancers betrays the dwarfs and then destroy the humam empire.
6if the dwarf refuse, theyll have to fight both evil guys and necros, but the humans help them, and at end the elvs back and help. the evil guys flee, but all the good countries are destroyed.
7if the dwarven-elven alliance acept the necro join, they win, but the elves become dark elves.
8if they refuse, the humans join then, and the nrcomancers still neutral. the main dwarf hero dies, but he is avanged by the human main hero. and then the elven and human hero kill the evil guys main hero...

... and... there we go...

ok.. viagem, muita viagem...

right, theres too much ends, but, i can drea, cant i?

Or rather the Dark Messiah team... which I hope means that the next game will have darker and more serious graphics and atmosphere.

I disagree,
i hope the next game is more 'catoonish', and 'colorful' =P
ok, no too much colorful, but a bit more than HoMM5
serious, this doesnt make a game childish or something like...
- i'm talkin cartoonish and colorful like... final fantasy X or XII, for example...

I don't really like this idea because Heroes has sort of geared for different factions to be good or evil, so if we could choose then everything would go out of control.
