...hmm, no I don't believe so. If you want to try and play with my mind, you've gotta try harder than that
...I don't see what there is to argue about, but a Utopia or utopia even is on a grand scale usually referred to as a place, and only sometimes as a state of mind. However, in any case, there is no journey within. If you're at perfection, then there is no possible way to continue forward. Undoubtedly, to arrive there there must have been something that happenned, but then that could not be referring to any long as a part of the utopian state.
Personally, I don't see how anyone could possibly believe in such thing as perfection in this secular plane...one of the reasons resulting why a utopia is usually also defined as an "imaginary perfect society".

Well RMS, I see that there's two people that have heard of Karl Marx and George Orwell, and their views. Of course, other known people have commented on this utopianism theory, but these were the first two people that came to my mind.

hehe...
actually "utopia" is the greek equivalent to "neverland" ...and since such a perfect thread cannot exist, I'd say it earned the title...
btw: Romana, do you think I can find a dark corner to sit and look at the full moon?

...who in the world gives out A++ outside of elementary school?
Besides, how is that perfect? It's great on just that, but not everything. Even on one particular subject, to be perfect, one must know everything that there is about something, wholly and perfectly. Also, is that not just the teacher's interpretation? It may very well be that many of our "knowledge" is false and that some if not all of what we think is real really is not. Even going back, would not an A+++ be more perfect than just A++?
Therefore, this still cannot justify such logic.

Well actually Utopia in our western culture, was first brought in as a concept by Thomas Moore in his book "Utopia", "Gullivers Travels" is also a book about that subject. (A little funny that Moore had toilets made out off gold in his "Perfect" society, guess u can see that it was written in the 17. century).
But RMS, u question the use off the concept Utopia and then proceed to take the concept off perfection for granted. Imho Perfection aint nearly as clearly defined as we would like it to be, maybe because it is linked to the concept off truth, which is even more notoriously vague.
But for the sake of ur argument, ill grant u that we have a good idea off what perfection is, my question is then.....
Why cant u never reach a perfect state of mind, or for that matter a perfect society??
And just so we are on the same page, an answer along the lines of "Well then we wouldnt have anything more to strive for" aint good enough. The reason is, that I for one have a problem with the beauty off always striving, I cant see why that should be a good.
Just remembered a greek myth about the 2 brothers who won the olympics, to celebrate them the greeks elected them to carry a loadfull of stones to one off their temples, when they reached the temple they both died off exhaustion.
That, to he greeks, was a perfect life
Guess they didnt have anything more to strive for or accomplish.
But guess what? I aint agreeing with them greeks one bit

you would if you had your facts straight... the 2 brothers actually decided to carry their mother (priestess of Hera or sumthing) to the temple, because the animals that normally did, were dead (or busy) ...when others saw that, they praised them and thought of them as among the most noble people around... their mother asked Hera to give them ultimate glory , so they both died in their sleep, always remembered for what they did...

I dont "strive for perfection". To be perfect would be plain boring. I like to laugh about my faults, this makes the world more funnier for me.
If i could ask God a question i would ask:
