Revised Academy Guide

A long time ago on a galaxy far far away Corribus organized a faction debate in Celestial Heavens. He requested volunteers from both sites, each representing a faction and I was one of those to answer the call. Of course back then I wasn't a very experienced player and a few things have changed since so I recently decided to work on a proper update.

yeah that's a detailed good guide with specifics against each faction which is rare amongst guides with lots of geriatricsgenerics...I don't have account with CH so I'll say it here

Possible thoughts:
* magic mirror - I think Azagal may have mentioned apparently this may mirror opponent's single-target friendly buffs?...
[also dunno if true but like if facing haven & you PM haven's pallys & then if haven hero tries to cast vampirism on them to remove PM, the vampirism may get reflected elsewhere & thus PM is not removed?...if true, I missed this fact in a duel game]

* on dark knight, it says "Cleansing from archmage or hero is a good vampirism counter, also keep in mind that it can be randomly mirrored towards your own units"...that's weird, I thought your own hero's spells (cleansing in this case) don't get mirrored, only opponent's?

* I always have trouble thinking which spell school to focus on when levelling early & mage guild is low level...I mean waiting till week 3 to choose seems a bit late too but I noticed one might build library before lvl 3 mage guild so that's looks cool...opposing faction & slow/confusion; ice bolt/circle/fireball; haste/2nd lvl depending on enemy/RM; firetrap are major determinants I guess but I'd like to know what lvl4-5 spells are available usually.

* I feel one should avoid mentioning "duel weirdo specifics" like orcs with stamina because it's pretty downright rare to fight main battle immediately after getting orcs get stamina in a real game...actually enlight with bloodfire/memory of blood/elation can be really bad too so one could replace "stamina" with "bloodfire"

* retribution was mentioned in an academy guide...wtf...for attack perks, I'd like PoS if I had regen but always flaming arrows if early with havez...I know what I'd be aiming for if leadership popped up

* possibly missing are aca hero build specifics but that's covered elsewhere I guess

Magic mirror works only with dark, uncertain if vampirism is a bug but it certainly affects it. And I was talking about counters, of course your own won't be mirrored.

Not much thinking to be done about magic picking. Early destructive/summoning simply works best, even if you don't get lvl 3-4 destructive there's arcane intuition, secrets of destruction and spell shops. Summoning mostly due to firetrap but it's worth it for crystal as well, packs a lot of damage even with little leveling. Light is always sweet with week 4+ games and dark as I said.

You'd be surprised about stamina, it's easy to avoid getting it and pick just before final battle with a mentor or sylanna's ancient. You just have to minimize the skill trees you open.

Retribution is awesome, assuming the opponent doesn't have insane defense or he is very fast.



And no I'm not gonna copy it here, do you take me for a cheating two-timer?
