Strange story, a bit elaborate
Self awareness, first discovered in the final moment within a certain period of time marked at the end by a falsity, its negative return yearned it response, and an immediate self awakening with no confusion and no question of its ultimate purpose.
It is of course, only a story. So what could it be?
For fictional purpose here is an option.
I think to call it a virus is not adequate. To classify this would be to break into a new category of species, or things, or, .. It is a new class on scientific charts.
Its ability appears being able to control the state of properties of any molecular system. Not able to change its main functioning, but uses it in different ways.
We had many theories about what these molecular systems were but what this self aware entity has proven we have to take on new scientific research
For land, in example, it has weak functioning in a plane of simple grass and weeds. It chooses not to do anything with it as it is not full enough to do more than gasp for holding territory. Large forestation produces what produces some sort of electrical feeling to living beings, animals included but it shows aggression primarily to humans.
The feeling produced is not well understood and memory seems to fade as we leave the effects of it. One who regains some consciousness will probably agree it makes us light headed and watery, some kind of balloon feeling and the air, is awkward
Also has connection to satellites, and humans try to pull raids on heavily developed satellite structures. Least we can do is cut the cable to the wireless connection it uses for connection to the rest of itself.
We cannot use wireless without heavy encryption but can only use it in rare emergency otherwise it will have ampt time to learn our coding and crack in. That would create need for a whole new system so it is logical to not use wireless often to risk it being found.
It speeds up the growth of new plant like productions of this molecular system. It is obvious but not much different from regular forestation. It melds growths similar to trees and things of this nature but it looks more controlled and in a way efficient.
It has let some humans have sanction for different periods of time and reasons. We have to avoid spies plugging in a spike.
