The Perfect Game
Heroes 3 is dying.
This message board has degenerated into a bunch of senseless bickering that is sometimes fun but generally a lil boring.
Still, I play a lot of heroes and need something to read between turns so I call upon you regulars to think of one last wave of interesting heroes 3 post before we kiss it goodbye and say "WASSUBI" to Heroes4.
I'll make one;
Don't you love day1? Like when you get Tazar and see boots of speed outside your town?
I love the anticipation...perfect game...Ihaven't messed up yet.
How far can you take it?
Did the troglydytes get morale and kill more of your starter troops then you wanted and make it to where you can't fight for that gold mine tomorrow?
Did you get overzealous and attack something you shouldnt have and lose a level7?
God that makes my heart sink when I do that.
Anyway what this thread is about is the time you didn't do that.
The time you made all the right moves. When every artifact was perfect and everything flowed and on the final battle your hero was a God!!!!
Immortalize your hero here just by saying the map you played and the relevent stats.
I'll start;
Map:HG2
My Tazar had 35 defense, expert resistance and all 3 resistance artifacts. You couldn't damage him with a hit or with a spell.
Did anyone ever have a hero like that? If so shout it out.

I agree with you mocara from the start only.
You start on day one. Get a hero you like at the start or either from the tavern. Everything looks promising, even a artifact at the start with boost your attack/defence or both. You think this is going to be a good game with good battles. You feel as though you are going to be all powerful.
And that's where is ends, (for me anyhow) as it descends into bad moves, silly attacks, losing half you army, bad morale, rotten luck, and then wandering aimlessy about the map thinking:
"Where did I go Wrong?".
You regroup your forces trying get back on track, and it all goes wrong again.
But hey its only a game you say to yourself and you play again and guess what?
It stills goes wrong. But i still play heroes, it still so addictive. I hope when heroes IV i will have improved (i hope).

Hehee, I got one for u Moc 
Season 3, division war, Boomerang, Im blue.
My opponent had a record off something like 16-4 and wanted allmost 2 weeks to train on the map, so I thought, sheeez this is gonna be tough considering red has a huge advantage on that map.
All random, he gets tower while I get rampart. Look in tavern and wow, Kyrre I can see boots right outside my town, but it doesnt stop here, in camp is a devil, and path in witch hut on the way to the goldmine, so day 6 while I take +6 shield in middle and second town I find SoJ on sea, week 2 day 2 he surrenders 
Kyrre had stats around 12-22-10-8, got some good stat relics aswell
That wasnt fun but hell it was a div match so who is counting

Perfect Game
I have notices when I pull a big relic from the sea, or mebe get a nice hero like kyrre with boots, gloves ect layin around the castle. I am usually playin a newbie who I could have beat with the worst of circumstances.
Now put me in a game with ________ (put your worst nightmare here, flammie, jb, andi....ect) I will get all crap heroes, no stat + arts, and usually sea hat or polarity boots.

To me, playing at impossible difficulty preserves that positive feeling of everything being untouched and untainted for quite some time. You take what you can take, and make strategic decisions about how to become able to build your castle and get through the wandering monsters at the same time.
On the other hand, if I get talked into a normal diff. game, the first turn is too full of stress for me to be enjoyed at all.
Why do people want to start with 20K gold at all? It´s a setting initially made for newbies. Between skilled players, it makes lower level creatures almost meaningless, Fortress almost powerless, and turns the start into a chaining agony.

The Perfect Game
I think I played it the other day with Sparo who is an incredible player and I just got great luck and he had bad luck. We played on Invader 4 minute turns. I got Rampart, Boots of speed on my doorstep and Dessa hired as 9th hero I think (which was the only scare). Second town rampart, silver pegasi in refugee camp, heroes flying everywhere, no thinking, in the zone, point, click, kill, repeat...chests loaded, trog mines yielded 2 gold mines, titan's cuirass from warrior tomb, movement gloves in black market, chain lightning, 35+ spell power, town portal, dragon city loaded...and then Dessa fell short of his castle by 2 steps. But it didn't matter, Dessa won the day...
Of course we rematched the next day and he got Dessa and his revenge. We played an awesome battle at the finish which he won...seriously good Heroes.

Ok Ok I know I haven’t played many games yet .. but the one I played yesterday is worth mentioning!@
Map: HG3 (for the first time)
Opponent: doesn’t really matter
He choose: Dungeon and Malkeith (don’t ask me why .. LOL)
I choose: Stronghold and dear old Crag
While Crag was leveling up nicely (not as fast as guys play it though .. see hourglass thread) and found pendant of courage .. boots of speed..and Orcs club from the water. I decide to head for the middle early and what do I find????
Recanters cloak, shackles and Sentinels shield )))) I knew he was going for a strong magic hero and had resurrection and stuff (he didn’t upgrade his reds). Two Island relic where crap (waterboots and black orb) so I didn’t even bother to get them.
To be more precise: I knew I had that battle won so I didn’t even get my Utopia and Library (was too busy posting of the zone and forums). SO I gave him the change to build up his third castle why I waited a bit.
Finally we meet (after I too the cartographer and his border guard) and I find out my chain is too short … 
His stats 19 25 35 24
Mine 22 27 10 4
Take one blow form his AA’s I mass haste the lot of them and crush him )))
Ain’t recanters cloak a SWEEt artie?
Oke that was about it!
I wish I could have seen the look on his face when He wasn’t able to cast his implossion with spellpower35 hahahaha.

Read This
This may not be the "perfect game", but I want to summarize it here
Map: Locked Underground (the worst map I ever played)
red: rampart, kyree (used Ryland as main)
blue: dungeon, gunnar
I get blue, he gets red.
This map a is closed one (it is so closed that we - I - managed to breakthru only after 7 hrs - after buýilding the 2nd town, and 2 lvl5 mage guilds only with 1x mines) Anyways, at the beginning of the game I see recanters cloak guarded heavily (underground-open area), so I cannot get it. Then, he comes and gets it most prolly (I am not sure, becuz map is smoked with cover of darkness) I get, res, chain, and berserker from the mage guilds. Then, I decide to breakthru, and kill 21 archdevils and get shcakles, and I reach an area where there are 2 topias. In order to get the topias I kill 40 bones and then 40 angels and get both of the topias; and all these cost me 18 manticores, 24 minotaurs, and 2 blacks . And what do I get from 2 toipas? captains hat, thunder helmet, dragon crown, and dragon breastplate . I get two topias, but still his stats are much higher than mine. My best offensive spell is lightning and I have no expert air .
Game last 2 more hrs. We both are bord to death. Turns lasting about only 10 secs - building the 2nd town and collecting armies. I have 9 blacks on month3 week3 (we played on impossible dif) 12 manticores, 110 beholders, 68 medusa queens, 5 bones, and 16 black knights.. I attack 21 ancients on cursed grounds and lose 3 bones - damn morale ) and get another shackles. Now I am in his territory. And he attacks me with a scout to see if I have shackles or not (we both are playing the map blind by the way) I had not put the shackles on cuz his troops other than the lvl7's nearly double my army, and he has recanters - no berserker, and his stats are better than me.
Anyways, seeing that I dont have shackles, he hit and runs me and kills 18 medusa queens.
When it is my turn, I get his second town and stay out of the castle near to his main castle and hero, and put the shackles on - hit "end turn" and begin to pray that he hit and runs me on more time
And he comes again with 1 gold
that is all

I had a feeling everything was going my way in a clan game not long ago.
I started with 50 marksmen as bonus on showdown3. I see golden bow as artifact near abandoned mine. Find Orrin in tavern. Get all the archery boosting artifacts. Now only problem my archers will die to strong magic. Then I find recanters.
Orrin developes expert artillery. Get joiners with adela: 2 groups of archers, 40 orc chiefs.
So day 1 week3 Im waiting for opponent in middle with Orrin 200 marksmen, 15zealots, 40 orc chiefs, ballista +5 archangels, 20 crusaders, 200 halberdians. My might stats was good too. More of an execution than a battle really

Well heres the scenario...
Giant War vs Lord of Kaos
He gets castle and Orin
I have hack and stronghold
Hack Great... double behemoth build no problem..
but then the icing on the cake is first shipwreck survivor gives nagash a +6/all heaven hat
so Everything seems to be going great..
Then internet crashes due to storm..
I will hope to finish sometime

Playing against a RL friend...
random map
Grail is realized after like 2/3 obelisks... it's less than a full day from my starting fortress!
I have 3 towns fully chugging out troops when he brings a similarly sized army to the one defending my fortress and attacks.
Seeing as he's a little short of a military genius, I beat him losing only 1 wyvern monarch. Come on, I'm not going to fly out of my castle when I can kill your wyverns/dragon flys oh so easily.

Specially for me
In my case however, the perfect game would be the opposite of what most others have put here: Where I am heavily overwhelmed by opp's arts, castle alignment, hero etc. and yet still win due to some tricks I set up.
Unfortunately I am more often on the other end..ask Jex Surprise catching.

The Perfect Luck Game
Well I think I had the perfect game last night..
HG3 sod version
I get Hack in tavern.. he gets logs at first stone, then diplo at first hut, 2nd hut armor, third hut earth, 4th hut air, 5th hut wisdom... ok so now my skills are all set...
Next we visit the refugee camps.. Arch Devil, red dragon, and chaos hydra.. WOW
so easily making it to the island day 5 with arch devil, admirals hat, I pick up the SOJ, and Lions sheild.. ok..
easily upgrade to phoenix day 1 week 2 , hit utopia day 3(2 blacks and it sucked.) clear joiner area by day 5, 5 devils, 17 naga queens, and close to 40 storm eles join .. not too bad.
Head to center.. rust dragons at cartographer offer to join for free .. wow... then crystal dragons guarding tome of water want to aswell.. but needed 300xp so I fought those guys.
so now hack is 34,32,32,25 with chain and shower.. and summon earth..
well you can figure out the seige outcome...

But i agree with u Andi, fish guy: This is a thread for TOH or multiplayer gaming when it concerns Heroes of Might and Magic. If u think its fun about talking about some game your making or whatever do that in another forum and ppl actually might read what u write. The tavern seems like the place for this not the TOH message board.
And Btw your skin colour has absolutely nothing to do with this as long as you post something that concerns just TOH or HOMM you are more than welcomed to post here.

Day 1 Alkin and vidomina in tavern alkin for main vido the perfect bone collector. alkin gets log at stone, pathfind hut right in front of castle.
30 royal griffins join at mines
Day 2: i hit refugee and guess what : an archangel.
Day 3: my scout hit the boat and first shipwrecked he grabbed : speed boots which i immediatly bring to alkin
Day 4 : my scout pick up the other 2 shiwrecked : SOJ and shackles of war
the luck streak continues: cartho day 8, heavenly helm in middle grabbed day 9 , alkin got the prefect skill combination, diplo brought some great joiners ( lots lvl 1 creatures, 13 manticores ).
advancing to opponent mid/end week 2.
i really felt a bit ashamed to win by this extreme luck lol

Yes please, talk about your video game in Tavern of the Rising Sun. I've made mistakes posting stuff non-related to TOH in the TOH threads. And for all those offended, I'm sorry about posting Quality Points in TOH threads instead of Tavern threads.
(I'm serious! No sarcasm at all!)
The TOH message board is very important, because many announcements and questions on the Tournament are asked and answered in the board including other fun topics related directly to HOMM 1, 2, 3, or 4.
OK NOW BACK TO THE TOPIC.
Your in dire need of some gold, because you have to get Titans. And you find Lord Haart in your Tavern and you still haven't opened that Pandora's box with 20,000 exp. Now you can recruit Archangels too from your other town!
A game when you are completely lucky and you do everything right, isn't a perfect game. It's the funnest game.
I think that every game when you learn something new (or the 7th time if you're slow like me) is a perfect game, because that means that you're going to improve in only 2 or 3 more times of screwing up the same mistake!
