I see in Maps4Heroes several categories over XXL.
While I believe almost no one ever designed XXL maps, I've been generating them with RMG and then altering them to my preferences (I'm a losy designer myself) for years now.
Do you think it could be possible to somehow expand the feature even more? Do you know if you could change the caps for objects in this case? For instance, some RMGs place more then 144 dwellings in the map, it would be nice if this was controled (it can cause some crashes) and it would be amazing if other objects (like powerups and towns) could have their own limits extended.

I am sorry for being too lazy to read 19 pages, but how do I create XXL maps (for SoD if possible)? I remember I installed this once but i didn't find out how to create a map. Cause I'd like to try building such a map.
And how is the cap for adventure map objects? Once I created a XL map with 2x massive continents and I reached a limit for placing some objects.

You need a patch for map editor too, probably it is somewhere in these 19 pages.

And as far as objects go, I'm afraid that unless you ude WoG or ERA there is no way you can exceed the limit.

After installing the patch, when you are in the map editor create a XL map. The larger maps will still say 144x144 but if you did things correctly your dimentions will in fact be 252x252.
As far as I know things like dwellings, towns and powerups keep the same limit caps; but 48 towns and dozens of utopias, librarys and conservatories have the potential to fill an enourmous map.
On the other hand, if you exclude WoG you're also excluding BAI and some other tricks to reinforce AI (not that this is my cup of soap, but you are) and an "hard" SoD oposition in a XL map becomes a peace of cake in a XXL map. Rule is: the closer your enemies are the hardest it is to play at higher difficulties.
You need to examine your motives to look for SoD. My experience is: in a map where I can choose any of the 8 players, if I manage to kill one I'm very close to be able to kill any one of them. This is true even if they are not allyed but is even more if they are all in the same team, cause they will be all at close level of development. In this case (if you bannished DD and Fly) players will be facing countless days of wandering around, taking utopias and visiting libraries with ubber heroes and hordes of angels. It may became quite boring, more then a L or XL map would be.

TEW 4 (252x252) has a code build in, raising objects cap number from 30000 to 60000. Objects number includes every decorative object as well.

Ah, so if I understood correctly I can use 2 times objects for 4 times size. Shouldn't be that much of a problem.

I decided to do this with Era instead of SoD. Now I can create 252x252 maps and open them in game. A problem seems to be the minimap, only showing one quarter of the map. Playing without minimap could actually become quite funny (for the mapmaker, not the player). I'm thinking of creating a big swampy maze of darkness.

Not sure what I'm gonna do. Either a simple multiplayer map or something based on a story.

I know I'm just being lazy asking this but that limit automatically increases anything else them decorative objects? Did u increased manually any limits, like more towns or more dwellings?

Only global objects. When I was at 50% design, map started to act weird, crashes, objects vanishing, couldn't save properly. This is how we found there is a cap for global objects then need patch.

Some objects can be erm placed and go over the cap, as mines, creature dwellings and other bonus locations. But not towns, one town over the limit and map will crash when visiting.

XXL patch for SoD 3.2 EN

Backup the DATA folder, extract XXL.zip to the game folder, then run patch.bat from the DATA folder. Start the game (heroes3_XXL). The link will be 'alive' for a week.

Does anyone know if an XXL map mod has been made without removing the other sized maps? I still enjoyed the 36x36, 72x72, 108 and 144 respectively.  Maybe some way to scroll the sizes in an option tab?

and naturally one that doesn't crash

Hi, AlexSpl. I find your tool/ program- Universal Balance Patchet v1.1. But it can change the stats only of Russian versions of Heroes 2 The Price of Loyalty. I see that it make a copy of some rows of the Heroes2w.exe. With your russian version, I managed to open  an English version of Heroes 2 The price of loyaly, verson 2.0. There I may see only the stats of several NEUTRAL creatures. Do you have  a tool for changing the stats of the English versions of Heroes 2 ??
I play at the impossible difficulty and give to the computers FREE  resources and troops- from  100 000 to 300 000 gold/every week and 50 rare resouces/every week (ore, crystal, gem). But now, I want to increase the prices of lv.5 and lv.6 creatures. So the computers again will buy all their population, but  it will be more difficult for me. I will may buy only low level troops.
 Do you have  a tool/ program for changing the stats of the English versions of Heroes 2 ?? May be your russian version will do the trick, if you change the rows it copy ??? I am not a programmer( IT specialist), and I can not do that.
