if you want to show the big screen, you should copy the link of the big picture instead of the little one...

Re: fantasy

I agree with Wesley about the fantasy creature topic.

I would say that all creatures are taken from the imagination of others, and not just one person ie Tolkien.

He is a contributer, yes, but the idea that the "whole fantasy realm" spawns from him is totally wrong.

The way you are implying clearly states that he created it out of his mind.

Wrong!

Everything come from the past.  Both in myths, legends and other people's imagination.

Myths created monsters like harpies, medusa, hydras and others.

Legend created nagas, dragons and so forth.

Tolkien created elfs and dwarves etc.

Other authors have created other monsters as well.

This may sound too critical. But i feel strongly about this.  No one man has the imagination to conceive all the realms of fantasy.

If your contenting with this, then i suggest that you look even farther into the past than tolkien.

Hieronimous Bosch (sorry about spelling) created fantasy visuals as well.

But the past in asscoiation with myths ans legends is the starting point of our fantasy.

Tolkien and Fantasy...

I never said J.R.R. created the creatures of Middle Earth... Tolkien was a "re-shaper", he was responsible for turning Elfs to Elves and for giving life and substance to creatures like Dwarves, Halflings, etc...

besides, most creatures in (Ho)MM, are taken from mythology, myths and legends...

Interesting.. there are 5 levels of units in that Necropolis town..

Also the bone dragon has 275HP, which is more than a Titan.. ouch.

i think in this way the undead are more balanced. they are unaffected by morale and must be a little more powerfull because the moral doubles the attack strenght of the other creatures. and if you calculate the defence -- the titan has 572 hp and the bone dragon 688 hp or 20% more life wich is the same as a titan with high moral.

a little more info:
devil
att 34
def 32
life 210
damage 35-50
SpellPoints 8
2 devils with castle
life ward, teleporting
i am not sure for the spell and the speed

Didn't moral only affect the order in which the units get to act?

Yes, in heroes 4 good morale makes your stack act sooner than normal, bad makes it act later.  Luck is a defense bonus rather than offense.

There was a thread that discussed about how it is not just speed to determine the order of turns. It was moral or something that gave the creature extra courage and allowed it to go first.

Either way, it doesn't give an extra turn so you don't get any free attacks. Bone Dragons have always been inferior to Titans.. suddenly Titans sucked.

What is so special about a pile of animated bones anyways??
Come on Titans are gigantic and could squash a bone dragon with it's foot!!

Titans have always and always will be my favourite level 7 creature.

remove the skin of the mighty black dragon and you will have a bone dragon. since the black dragons are the strongest in the game the bone dragons must be also a strong unit (and they are)

as for the morale and the combat speed:
isn't the speed value that determinates who will attack first and the movement - for the distance they can walk?

Don't talk logic with me please. HOMM2 bone dragons were also skeletons of the warlock dragons but they only had half the HP (or 200, can't remember).
