Hi elvin,
How will the playoffs be decided after the first round? We have a nice number of 16 in the tournament, so it could be a bracket where the first from group A plays with 8th from group B, 2nd from A wih 7th from group B, etc...

I initially was considering top 3 from each group but top 4 will make for a more satisfying tourney.
For quarters the matches will be decided in the best of 3 and same goes for semifinals. In the finals it will be a best of 5 showdown so first to get 3 victories wins. For the play-offs strikeouts will be allowed, if you want I can draw 5 random pairs for each with samiekl's strikeout generator.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
In First Phase everyone plays against everyone in his group. That will be 2 duels per opponent and the top four of each group advance to play-offs.
In the Quarter Finals
- 1st player from 1st group meets 4th player from 2nd group (match-up A)
- 2nd player from 1st group meets 3rd player from 2nd group (match-up B)
- 3rd player from 1st group meets 2nd player from 2nd group (match-up C)
- 4th player from 1st group meets 1st player from 2nd group (match-up D)
Decided in the best of 3 so 2 wins required.
In the Semi-Finals:
- winner of match-up A plays against winner of match-up C
- winner of match-up B plays against winner of match-up D
Again best of 3.
Top 2 players will clash in the finals, best of 5.
A FEW REMINDERS!
- There will be one month deadline. An extra week may be given at most.
- Should a person withdraw without playing half of his games then his games will not count.
- Factions are chosen randomly.
- You have the right for restart if you get mirror.
- Using mentor to gain above maximum mana is not permitted.
- You must pick a native hero.
- You may not fight on native ground. Alternate turns in picking terrain.
- No absolute abilities!
- Once you pick an artifact area the other two will become inaccessible so careful which goblin you pick.
- DO NOT FORGET TO SAVE REPLAYS. I need them to ensure there is no foul play.
Make sure you have read the rules. Failing to comply may give you unnecessary trouble or cause your game to be disqualified.

1st battle:
Dungeon:Necropolis 0:1
Mass endurance,mass haste, Mass rising dead (1440 HP per one shot)monster Phoenix(30 spellpower) and great skill-mark of the necromancer did their job very well.
2nd battle:
Haven-Inferno 1:0
Crazy morale of Arcax, especially crossbowmen and bad unit order. I was trying to do something, but it was really hard because my opponent was really well prepared to this fight.
Dark magic, mass confusion, frenzy, mass endurance, fast gate, swift mind weren't enough.
Thanks for great, epic battles and friendly atmosphere while playing :-)

Great first match. Kinda expected mass haste to come earlier, maybe another mass haste after the phoenix was summoned. Dungeon's strategy was pretty interesting, might and summoning was just the thing with its stats. But for all its advantages the crystal needs a synergy to keep working.
Second game.. Suffice to say that Arcax's stats were as exceptional as his timing. Had the seducers acted before crossbows it would be another tale but that's just one of the many things that went wrong. Btw I might have gated with the stallions.

Dwarves had low defence stats unfortunately and magic resistance was sleeping at beginning. On the other hand, good runes and kinda well positioning and blocking devil's real forces by gated ones so they had to wait for their turn ;-) Soldier's luck-great skill for dwarves acted very well too.
2nd battle
Haven:Stronghold 0:1
Enlighstment made me pretty well stats, empathy with horde's anger did superb job.
I think in this match I had a lot of luck-opposite to Maniek's bad luck. I know he is a very good player so I'm sure he will show his skills in next matches. Good luck!

Maniek gambled a lot with dwarven luck and mass endurance/suffering came into the game too late to have real effect. Other than that nice game.
Second not only did orcs have solid stats but haven hadn't trained champions and did not make good use of their charging. They were moved within melee distance so it was a matter of time till haven succumbed to the orcish might.

A great battle. It was nice not to get completely smashed by Elvin. I missed a chance to block his champions with my treants and it was a fatal mistake. I didn't move because I couldn't hit but I should have blocked.
