the creature abilities are a bit powerful that being said, at least, compared with H5.

should I understand that a single level 1 creature can immobilize a level 7 stack?

He could always add the standard ability success chance thingy that most of H5's abilities use.

Something like, chance of success: 25% + 3% * [TotalHP/TargetTotalHp]

Of course the jaw lock is an activated ability and not a passive one (bash, fear attack) so you might have to alter the calculation a bit to make the ability more attractive.

While Jaw Lock affects large creatures, it can only be used once a battle plus while the affected creature cannot move, it can still attack the Battle Scarab.

At the time you have tier 7 creatures, it is pretty likely that you will be able to kill Scarabs pretty fast.

Jaw Lock was primarly designed to help Pyramid early game.
On an interesting note, the ability was originally named "Pin" and used by tier 1 Scorpions.

While some of the abilities might seem powerful compared to other factions in Heroes 5 (I think the abilities will be much more interesting in H6), then keep in mind that Pyramid is probably the faction (maybe Dungeon) that has the least creature growth and highest costs on creatures and buildings which is why the Favor racial was implented.

Keep in mind that nothing is a 100% finalized. It's a big stretch, but certain creatures might even be removed and replaced or get very changed. I will start balancing the abilities after I have finished the Sphinxes and Bennus. Sphinxes are tanks and Bennus the only flyer in Pyramid (though Lunar Sem have teleport which they can cast once without mana recovery and Spirit Guards have their leap).
I want both alternate upgrades to be attractive too.

6 stacks of scarabs in early game would be very good. + a stack of anubis warriors...

For creeping, I dont think it matters at all. Haven can solo Dragon Utopias very early.

And it would be very easy to kill them if a tier 1 creature with small growth are splitted into several stacks.

But the locked creature will have to spend his retaliation on very small stacks of scarabs...

Usually you have more then one stack in your army.

Also a hero could use spells like Stone spikes to wipe out them when they are close together.

Thanks.

It's really fun for me to get back to faction creation. When I came to HC I made a lot of factions, my first one was called The Refuge and it can still be found in the Altar of Wishes in the old Weekly Faction Contest that was hosted by GenieLord.
Then I got tired of making factions and I believe most people know what happened from that point.

Edit: Also if people wonder what the reasoning I had when I made the creatures few, expensive but powerful then it is because I believe that a better gameplay would be some few, valuble creatures that you need to think a little before you use them instead of just having masses of weak creatures that are not really important.

With few, expensive and powerful creatures you will need to think before you act with the Pyramid faction.
Then there is also the Favor racial, where you need to choose the best way to use Favor in the current situation.

My idea of Alternate Upgrades is that both should be viable, but perhaps in different phases of the game or depending on your own playstyle. When I created the creatures of this faction I wanted their to be several different tactics that players can make up and not just one or two "I win" strategies.
Shortly said, I wanted Pyramid to require some thinking to play. To utilize your creatures in the best and smartest way.

Basic Favor: Increases Favor generation and allows level 1-3 creatures to be bought for Favor.
Advanced Favor: Increases Favor generation and allows level 1-5 creatures to be bought for Favor.
Expert Favor: Increases Favor generation and allows level 1-7 creatures to be bought for Favor.
Ultimate Favor: Towns of other factions now generate Favor and creatures and buildings in those towns can now be bought for Favor.

Right, questions.

This is a hero skill. Does that mean that a hero with this skill must be in town if you want to buy creatures for favor or gain bonus to Favor generation, or can you just have a hero with Favor anywhere on the map?

Is the favor generation bonus cumulative? Meaning the more heroes with Favor skills you have the more favor you gain globally?

I do not want people to create level one heroes just to benefit from the racial skill so no, the hero does not need to be in town for towns to generate Favor or buy creatures for Favor.
It should be noted that Favor ONLY works in Pyramid towns if you do not have Ultimate favor.
You gain Favor from towns at the start of every week based on its town level.

Yes and no. Heroes themselves do not generate passive Favor. Favor is shown on your rescourse tab but is also shown as a rescourse on the battlefield (as with some perks you can use Favor in combat).
However, Favor can also be gained through killing enemy creatures so if you have more heroes on the map - you can of course kill more enemy creatures quicklier.
I do not want Favor generation to high, so the amount of Favor you get from killing enemy creatures should reduce depending on how many Viziers (the pyramid hero) you have one the map.

I will add the "Hero Penalty" on the main post soon because I do not want the player to have huge amounts of Favor later in the game.
The whole idea with Favor and the Pyramid faction itself is that it would have few, expensive but powerful creatures and you would have the use Favor efficently in order to get a good economy etc since creatures and buildings etc would cost more.

edit: Some clarifications.
While any town captured by a Pyramid player generates Favor based on town levels, Favor can only be spent in Pyramid towns without any skills/perks.

How about Romans?

I think it would be cool to put Roman towns in the game and Roman armies.
It would be cool if they put 10 soldiers in the army.
Awesome!!!
Or Swamp town with lizards, nagas and dragonflies like in HoMM 3!
I like Xerox's idea about Egyptians too.
I would make more natural creatures like in HoMM 4.
It would be great!!!

I am very happy with this town and will not be making another for this years ICTC.

I will make the final edits to the town in the following days. There will probably be no major changes though as I am extremly happy with how the town turned out.

Thank you.

Recently, I have changed the story of the faction dramatically and as such creature descriptions will change soon.
Please take some time to read the new story. I have worked a lot on it and it will be very interesting to see how it unfolds. I am going to add what is actually happening to the race in what was supposed to be the "campaign" and how the whole story arc will end. It is supposed to be a final H6 expansion faction.

The story is now splitted into two versions and Sol'os has a much smaller roller now though he still has a huge role in Heroes universe even now.
You can now read Osir'os Story and Setheks Story.
