Constant Crashing And Other Bugs
Sorry if I'm butting into a new forum without understanding the underlying culture; I hope a few mistakes can be overlooked.
Anyway. I have some problems with Heroes IV and I only just thought of asking people on a forum about them so if you can help me, I would appreciate it.
-In the Heroes IV folder, there is something called SafeDiscLT.bundle and I think I just broke it. Based on a cursory googling, it seems to be a DRM scheme of some sort, yet the game still works fine, or at least as fine as it ever has in Rosetta. Is this something important? I'm not sure if I can put it back together.
-Heroes IV has a tendency to crash, very often. Especially (but not exclusively) on one specific (homemade) map. Campaign Editor tends to crash even more frequently. Is this because I broke the DRM or because it's rubbish? I've run out of patches to install to fix the constant crashing, the last Mac OSX patch was released some time ago. If it is DRM-related, will it stop crashing if I reinstall from the original CD? I think I lost the CD some time ago, but it might turn up if I look for it. I never installed it from the CD on my current computer, I just copied the folder and all of its various contents over from my previous computer (which ran Classic Mac OS).
-Many of the maps that came with the game contain very long text boxes. Whenever I try to do just that in Campaign Editor, it only allows a few lines. Anything longer gets truncated. This forces me to create multiple text boxes that pop up in a row which can be very irritating to someone who's played the map several times already and wants to skip the exposition. (And there is quite a lot of it!) If there's some way to display all the text in one big box, that would be very helpful.
-Going out on a limb here, I don't suppose there's any way to influence or cue the AI? It's not as fun if the enemy armies just sit there, or stop moving after picking up one item, or can't be bothered to pursue the player. I'll keep fussing it and/or read through any modding threads already available in this very forum, but if I'm missing something very obvious, I'd hate to remain in the dark.

Patches may help you. And equilibrus will too. H4 on it's own without them is really all screwed up, IMO.

Thanks for your help.
Unfortunately, I seem to have installed the latest patch and I can't seem to find Equilibris in any form for the Mac version. While I am admittedly used to being left out (long-time Mac user here) would still quite disheartening to see a fix available only on the other side of the Microsoft/Mac divide.
