Look mate, bigger avatars is good? I'll tell you why it's not. It wastes bandwidth and I'd rather not have that done to my damn internet. Block feature is alright for some cases but then it's a forum, people should be allowed to be heard. So yeah, they are bad implementations. Maybe a block feature for HCM would be handy but not for the forum.
And uploading your own avatars is one of the dumbest things ever considering how much abuse that system could take. The moderators have enough to do, why should they have to look at what vaars people upload to make sure they aren't against the CoC? Think with your head man!
And about recruiting mods, that's a stupid idea and something I'd definitely not like to see implemented here. The mods are fine as they are, just imagine if Geny or someone was an assistant mod or assistant admin. It would ruin this entire forum, like seriously. No offence or anything, just the first person that popped into my mind and you're hardly neutral. These ideas you want in the forum are ridiculous and that is why I would leave if they are implemented. Who thoughts of these anyway? 5 year olds? Like where did rational thinking go? Flew out the window did it?

From what I've read, the block feature is for emails and HCMs only.
Uploading avatars - it's not like it's a huge effort and there is no obligation to do it immediately. Also, that's half of what the extra AssMods do.
How would Geny being an AssMod ruin the place if the power he wielded would be accepting avatars and silencing (without good reason, jugded by senior mods would quickly end up revoking even that little glimpse of power anyway )
I still think these are unnessesary though.

About 90% of forums out there, all other Might and Magic forums among them, include avatar uploaders without prior verification. This community is exceptionally mature in comparison to some of them, so I honestly don't really see any reason for doomsaying. No big deal either way and nothing to storm away from.

Agreed - I've wanted to control my own avatars for a while. It's stupid that Val has to waste his time micromanaging that task. I don't see why you would trust users to conduct themselves like adults when it comes to posting text and pictures in their posts, but suddenly treat users like children when it comes to pics in avatars. That's not a logical position. The users who would violate the CoC with questionable avatars are the same ones who would violate the CoC with questionable post-content.

And is this AM, AA business final? You said earlier that it wasn't but then you said "we decided"... kinda confusing. I still don't see the reason for overhauling the mod structure. I mean ok if you're undermanned that's an issue, but it can simply be solved by recruting new mods, no? If you have a flat tire you don't remodel your bike so that you can drive with it, do you? You just change the tire.
And william you're just not making sense anymore. I mean your personal may be one thing but seriously? Too high Bandwith usage? You're internet can't be that slow... perhaps your temper...? Come on don't be so rash.

Well I'm on dial up now and I'm not damn happy, and this stupid ridiculous and crap idea of bigger avatars is like I said, crap. Why would anybody need bigger damn avatars?! What's damn wrong with the size now?! This is the first time I've heard anybody even complaining about it. Ffs.

Well of course that sucks... but apart from you there are still a few other user who may have a better internet connection? You know bigger avatars for the greater good? And bigger avatars make for cooler pictures. I'd finally be able to get what your avatars are about. They're so damn small I don't get them half of the time. I'm sure you'll come to understand .

I've got an idea: why don't we swap the avatar field with the post field? That way we can upload huuuuge avatars that will take most of the page! Sure, the posts might be a little hard to read on that small patch of screen on the left, but at least our avatars will be big.

I like bigger avatars. Our current size really is too small in this day and age. It might have been okay in 2001, but this is 2010.

I have no problem with the avatar size, but I don't mind increasing it either. I'd rather see you give us increased file size instead though... trying to get an avatar within the size limit can be frustrating at times...

Large avatar: No. To me it doesn't matter but for others it might plus I don't really see the point.
Upload your own avatars: Yes! Would be much easier and smoother. But yeah, file size could be increased though.
Assistant Mods & Admins: No! Get new proper moderators then. If half the active members are Assistant Mods then I predict that there will be Sileneces thrown around 24/7.

Why is this in the glade? I've totally overlooked ignored it 'til now!
It saddens me that you'll step down Mytical. However, I've come to like you due to your personality, not your modship. So unless you're not leaving it's not that big a deal, but you have done a good job IMO.
I also agree to William on blockage. This is a forum, people should be able to get their opinions out, even if they're stupid opinions. As well as having larger avatars, as some one said, higher size limit would help though (and a change in the CoC, so that it doesn't say 2 KB(fools me every time, and I end up tweaking for an hour, never able to get a desent picture)) and being able to upload ones avvies is also a good feature. These are all minor tweaks though, and I like 'em.
The real deal, with the mod changes, is another thing. I disagree with them, since(as said) it's the feel of the forum. My thought is that having the same number of mods as now and allowing them to, but recommending them not to, edit/delete/silence/whatever in other forums. This way the mods'll get more power to prevent actual spamage, but keeping the feel of the forums, right?
