Exactly my point

i think what batvanio is trying to say is that because every week is the week of the imp/familiar, there are lots of wandering stacks of imp/familars, then, because there are imps/familiars in your own army, they are inclined to join you. Thus, you will end up with legions of imp/familiars quickly.

Good fun for the enemy necromancer, in other words.

Best looking: The Dungeon one, I don't remember the name.
Best bonus: Tie between Tower, Necropolis and Tower.

I would say the best looking one is the carnivorus plant.

I think the best one is the Tower, because it has 4 abilties, rather then the usual 3.

it is debatable whether having +12 knowledge (in seige battle only) and being able to see the entire map is really better than having all the spells in the entire game, as you do if you build the grail in the conflux. Also, having 150% growth rate means getting 6 phoenixes a week. 6!
Cheers.

Here the beef:  They don't make 'em any better than the Aurora Borealis.  It is the Conflux's one saving grace.  That said:

#1) Conflux (see above)
#2) Necropolis.  The skeleton horde just keeps on growing...mwa ha ha...
#3) Rampart.  Call me stupid, but I like doing double damage with almost every attack.

On another note, the Inferno grail is beyond worthless.  First of all, imps/familiars suck.  They just suck.  Like most inferno units, they have next to no strategic value, and like most inferno units, their stats are awful.  So having hundreds of them is nowhere near as useful as hundreds of skeletons, or +3 luck, or any other grail bonus.

Second, it sucks when the game notifies any observant opponent that you have the grail.  Wouldn't you rather have them go on a mad obelisk hunt, only to discover that "X marks the hole?"

Third, when "week of the plague" never shows up anymore, that BENEFITS YOUR OPPONENT!  Always a problem.

Fourth, constant "weeks of the imp" benefit all the other morons who are playing Inferno as well.

All in all, this is just one more reason why Inferno is by far the worst town.

Infernos suck?
Have you ever heard of demon farming? You're gonna have to ask Wiggy_Wam, the resident demontologist, but apparently, you can get several hundred demons in the first month, if you resurrect demons with your pit lords properly. Personally, I would be pissing myself if someone showed up with three or four hundred demons at the beginning of the second month. Cheers.

I have not been playing H3 for a while, but I can say this:

The Conflux has the best grail because getting all of those spells (esp. Town Portal) kicks butt!

The best looking grail in my opinion is a hard tie between the Deity Of Fire and the Colossus.

Whatcha think?

The colossus looks kinda out of place in the castle; a big statue in the middle of the water. I like the airship of the tower better in looks.

Make the Conflux's grail the best. Just think of it. You need to boost your spell power, then you get Armageddon, dispose all the elementals except Fire and Phoenixes and you already won.

I like the Skyship, seeing the entire map is very good.

I think the Deity of Fire looks the coolest, seeing the big Devil looks cool.

It's amazing after looking at all of these and seeing no Monument of Warlords (Stronghold) and not very many for the Fortress. Being a Stronghold player myself makes me sad, but it is not exactly the best so i guess it is ok. Personally i love the Guardian of Earth (Dungeon). I know the power is only used when a siege is happening but you can always recruit a hero before enemies attack. The plus in power turns a 100 attack magic arrow to about 300! I'm only estimating. In a single-player scenario game called Good to Go, i would love being dungeon. It is a small map game where you are always being attacked by the enemies. I usually pick Deemer and knock out the ballista and any surrounding creatures in about 2 turns. that way the only way they can get in is through earthquake or teleport.

1. Deity of Earth. Definitely the coolest one.

2. Of course, it is Warlords' Monument. It is best-looking, even if the benefits given by it is not well.

Grail

The only resource the Grail adds is gold therefore the town that relies mostly on gold will have the greatest advantage. Which town might that be you ask? All of them is the answer. My long time friends and I have all agreed that we don't know which grail structure is really the best but the one thing we do know is which one is the worst. Maybe others will agree with me that if you have all your good buddies playing a  teams map that's extra large with no water and someone wants to be the biggest jerk they will put the grail in a that damned Inferno. When you all play a map that takes literally 2-3 days to complete and the Inferno is in league with a Necropolis then THAT IS NOT FAIR. LoL if anyone has yet to experience that then I'll tell you right now that it is not a pretty sight! Saying good luck won't help you when that happens. The only thing you can say is, "Goodbye cruel world".

Grail Buildings in Heroes of Might and Magic III

Every Grail Building will give you 5000 gold extra per turn, and a 50 % increase in creature growth in that castle. The special powers are written below.

Stronghold (Barbarian, Battle Mage)
Warlord’s Monument: Adds +20 to the defender’s Attack Skill during a siege of the castle.

Necropolis (Death Knight, Necromancer)
Tomb of Souls: All allied heroes get 20% bonus in Necromancy skill.

Rampart (Ranger, Druid)
Spirit Guardian: All allied heroes get a +2 Luck bonus.

Castle (Knight, Cleric)
Colossus: All allied heroes get a +2 Morale bonus

Tower (Alchemist, Wizard)
Skyship: Reveals world map and defending hero gets a +15 Knowledge bonus during a siege of the castle.

Inferno (Demoniac, Heretic)
Deity of Fire: Every week from current date is the Week of the Imp.

Dungeon (Overlord, Beastmaster)
Guardian of Earth: The defending hero gets a +12 Power bonus during a siege of the castle.

Fortress (Beastmaster, Witch)
Carnivorous Plant: The defending hero gets a +10 Attack and Defense bonus during a siege of the castle.
......

While the money and creature grow part comes in handy all the time, some of the grail specialies suck big time.

Some of the specialities are limited to only siege battles, some are only for spellcasters and some have moral and luck in it.

Well moral and luck can be equaled or negated by low level arts and buildings, which are almost always available on EVERY map ...so this really doesnt give any further bonus.

Having all spells looks very powerful in the first view, but experienced players know that high level spells are not so usefull when it comes to the big battles with huge armies. Only DD and fly would be unfair advantages ..but almost all human-to-human games dont have this spells allowed.

Stronghold and Dungeon are restricted to the town, although those bonuses arent really that strong, if u want to avoid those bonuses simply dont attack the town...so also here no use!

The WORST bonus by FAR, is the Fortress bonus. If u stay with Fortress IN your town, you are literatelly trapped. Opponent simply needs to let a fast fodder die on castle door and ull get shot down by the opponent. The hard hitters (chaos, moo`s and basi`s), will get lost without any action and the shooters and fliers will be to weak to make enough damage. Additional to this opponent will have massive destruction spells that will cut u down. So not only that the bonus doesnt bring u any advantage, it will lead to heavy disadvanteges!

A very good bonus is the Tower bonus..this view about everything will really help u a lot in several strategical and tactical ways.

The BEST bonuses by FAR are of course the Necro and Inferno bonuses. Those will provide u with HUGE and HUGE and HUGE additional troups, THAT WILL WIN the game for u. There is NOTHING an Opponent can do if he faces additional 10 000 Skeletons/ 1000 Demons after more or less a month. Of course uve to know how to do it. In the hands of bad players those bonuses may suck.

So the best bonus is Inferno (if not against Necro as Necro benefits from Inferno bonus too).

Xarfax1

PS: Best looking: Inferno.
