The maps look promising. I just hate it that some maps eventually get vetoed 99% of the time and in the end always ending up playing the same 3 maps over and over again. Wishing that would not happen this season, lol.. fools hope..

I never doubted that, Ramiz!

The fact that Pigbaby is not just a teamless ex-KeSPA, but the fact he couldn't even win a series in GSL qualifier in Season 1 adds more insult to the injury

And Golden managed to take 2 maps from San in WCS Europe, I must say I'm impressed by his results after only reaching the GSL once last year, Top40 on Challenger....clearly you can never understimate our fellow koreans

I hope ForGG beats StarDust so we avoid PvP finals.

Pigbaby won. One single ex-KeSPA was all needed to destroy the myth of Korean legends like TaeJa and HyuN, and beat Bomber too.

It's like Blizzard Balancing Dev person team don't know about maths - increasing total radius from 1.75 to 2.5 is doubling the area LOL

Couple that with +shield damage and bye Protoss...sigh...

Instead of trying something more interesting for Terran in lategame they still want to buff midgame, so stupid.

BTW, Redbull Atlanta in 3 days, I think is the first big tournament where we'll see the new four maps in action!

Mines won't even be made against Protoss except against Zealot-Archon-Templar composition that is non-existent since the first WM buff, so I don't see what is the problem here. Everything else except for DTs, Zealots and Archons has more range than WMs.
It further continues to discourage Zealot-Archon-Templar play, but since all we are seeing these days are mass Blink Stalkers with Colossi, it really won't affect this match-up much outside of WM drops on Probe lines, which are exciting and good for the game in my opinion.

It will help the Terran against Zerg, since with these values WMs are a lot closer than first WMs we have seen that did 40 damage in whole radius of 1,75. Maybe 2,5 will be too much, but we will see.

I don't think Thor change will do much, and I support Time Warp change.

As some of other Pro players argued, if Terran was actually a lot stronger in the mid game, then we would see a lot more Terran wins than we currently are seeing. They are not winning much, not by a long shot, and it is not like that all of the Terran games end up in the mid game anyway.
Same with the Hellbat buff last patch, this buff helps Terran to be even more aggressive, which means that Protoss and Zerg players will get defensive instead of greedy, and that will transition into the mid/late game for Terran, be ahead or on even ground with Protoss and Zerg players.
Right now, Zerg and Protoss economy skyrockets way too quickly from the mid game, even if Terran was really aggressive, and suddenly Terran is left with a lot of Tier 1-2 units that can't do much against Protoss/Zerg tier 3 units, or they can but with triple effort. Terran has a really rough time to transition into their "unstoppable" army which is the reason why they "suck" in the late game(not counting mech here), and with these buffs it might be easier to do so.

Mines were good against Protoss since the buff. They destroyed the Archon-Templar-Zealot play while not giving new one to Terran (Blizzard in a nutshell for you, removes strategies instead of adding more to the other race, duh).
BUT, with this buff, now any Mine triggering to the Zealot cloud will damage them so much to make it supereffective, even if other Mines fail to trigger. I do expect Terrans to try them against regular Protoss compositions.

Another important fact to look at is WM drops. Since the buff with +shields damage, we are seeing them very oftenly. With this radius increase, now it will kill absurd amount of probes since the two first radius instakill them. It's going to be ridiculous.

And those 40 damage WMs were heavily criticized at the time....

Yeah, WMs will demolish Zealots now, which isn't a bad thing, Protoss won't be able to just a-click with Zealots like before but will need to babysit them a lot more, and it will support some small things like group of Blink Stalkers with Observer going to snipe WMs and blinking away, just like Mutas do that with Overseers. Those little micro things make Starcraft amazing, and we need more of them.

I doubt that match-up will become broken after this, I think that we will see a cool things from both sides, Terran using new WMs against Protoss and Protoss that try to adapt to new Terran timings and strategies.

Regarding WM drops, Protoss should be in danger there. With good wall, Force Fields and Mothership Core, it is almost impossible to do anything to the Protoss in the early game with Zerg or Terran, I think that there should be more windows for harassment. People were doing that with old WMs too, but most of the time it wasn't worth it, now it might be.

As I said, they might be too strong against Zerg with the buff, but some of the Zerg pros back then said that WMs weren't supposed to be nerfed since Zerg managed to adapt to them. And game evolved a lot from that point so we will see a lot of new things, every patch like this change the game more or less, and we see new composition, timings, strategies etc.
I really think that is a good thing.

Btw, Wolf already made a few tweets about the showmatch. He has contacted KeSPA and they are agreeing about showmatch between Maru and SoO Bo7, if there are more than 1000$ involved.

Some people are already donating, but Wolf said that he won't accept any donations before KeSPA officially agrees with it. It would be super cool!
