I have never had such a problem . When you choose "save as..", you don't write the same name as the non-edited map, do you? 'Cause if you do, it'll overwrite the map. If you save the map as a different name, it wont replace. If it's not that, then I cannot help..

No - it is as weird and ridiculous as I wrote. Not only with WoG editor, H3 too is doing that for me!

I renamed the 'new' version adding 'v2', and so on...

Speaking of bugs...I am playing necro on "The dragon Slaughter" map. 10 months passed and I got some 10 millions skeletons. The game can't display the numbers and I went out of possible or allowed damage by stack. So my skeletons do 1 damage now, no matter if they are 1 million or one alone.


I overused the emerald tower in improving stats:


and now the skeletons are unable to kill anyone. I kill everything with their clones, the only working thing .

That's kind strange. I can see there is damage cap around 2 or 4 billions, but this shouldn't limit sigle creatures dealing about 1000 damage.

1 skeleton does <>1000 damage. The whole stack is more then 4 millions. The game does not handle the damage (4 milliards?). The most strange is that I tried to split the skelies to have less but I got horrible display bug, they vanished from slot. Hopefully they clone and the clones work.

This is the clones damage (516 millions?, number of clones is 20% from real stack)):

I think that's something we should fix in VCMI, but it's even harder to achieve than experience overflow so no one has thought about it yet.

Using Split button for replacing massive creature stacks is only way to do replacing without vanished stacks.

Not sure it is a bug, but I got unlimited leveling without using any cheat or special scripts. Gem was level 108, and the next fight, instead of bringing me to zero level gave me unlimited levels. I stopped clicking when I was level 1647 and shut the game, but it could go further.



A first time see.
Save

Just move Gem, an automatic fight will occur on the road. You have 1/2 changes that she gets either unlimited leveling or she goes back to 50 (I added a script where the hero is down to 50 if the program detects negative experience after battle). Reload until she gets the infinite loop.

Storm Temple ZDWELL08.def causing crashes?

Whenever i place the object above on my map, if I double clikc on it and try to change its properties (passable, or object instead of trigger) I get a message for some 'access violation'...

Also, I asked a question some time ago, regarding the use of scripts: I have the erm_s.wog on my H3 folder, placed it on my data folder... when I open ERM SCript Master or Script simply (f7, f6 and so) and get an error message about H3WMapEdPatch.dll 0000E709 System Error Code 2

so until now I have no idea how to deal w/ some of these anomalies.

I enjoy very much making maps, and these tools are nothing short of amazing, but i fear that my not understanding of why some things happen may lead to problems with my map (like a WOGMONSTERLOG that is generated with some weird messgaes) and I have no idea whats on...

EDIT: Also, just happened again... what is it with the various crashes, when u mass paste an area from within a map and to other maps? I mean, its not like i am pasting an entire 144x1444 area size...

Will this damage the map I already have developed?

Also, I dont know if this happened to anyone (maybe)... There was some 'Wight population doubles' week, and the wights i met on the map did not have a trigger - they whre like simple objects!

I did not place them as objects on those locations, just checked.

EDIT: I have in SOME locations on the map, where creatures are placed as objects... like harpies on some stones, over a lake, wights and ghosts surrounding some building (to give a haunting atmosphere and stuff...). ?

I reinstalled now from the full package and noticed an erm_sm file that was no where else in my previous downloads - there had been an erm_s, the difference being that one contains the scriptmaster and the other just the scripts (reason why i could not edit scripts in WoG Editor...).

regarding the WOGERMLOG file / error messages i was getting in the beginning of the maps, I believe I figured out what it was (not sure): I had placed wights, ghosts and wraiths as objects in some areas, and had turned the stacks as 'does not grow' and set to 4,000 each (just to read 'legion' when approaching).

(It goes on for a lengthy space, so I just put the beginning, if it interests anyone out there).

I reset their growth and quantities as standard and now i dont get the message again (if I will get in the future or not, dont know).

EDIT: Also, strangely enough, NOW when I 'save as ' a map, the original one does NOT go away (there really must have been something extremely wrong with my first download, specially so coz I was able to create maps and play )

This may be posted already in the past, but a well-known bug is Mummies getting attacked by Arrow Towers (can't be cursed, error msg). I don't care really, I only have to hit Enter 11 times before the msg disappears just wanted to share...

+1 Morale Halberdiers in group?

It surprised me to see my troops that had several alignments (on stack was Angels, not AA) have on their morale detail the following:

Halberdiers in the group +1

I later placed halberdiers , pikemen... dismissed them, nothing unusual... when dismissed the angels, the description went away.

If i have angesl AND AA, then the description is correct (i guess): Archangels in group.

I did NOT change anything at all in creature traits / abilities... for angels / aa... Anyone else having this?

Creatures disappear

Hallo to everyone,
at first, I'd like to excuse myself, because I'm new to this forum and even I've tried to find what Im looking for, I wasnt successful.

Anyway, Im desperate about that some call "bug" when large number of my creatures disappear in hero's inventory. Example: I had 30.000 skeletons in one spot and I've tried to move them to another spot. In result, whole legion disappered.

I would be really thankful to anyone who could help me to fix this bug.

As you may see in the 3rd post on this page, game doesn't handle correctly stacks which are above 32,767 units. Rather unfixable in WoG.

Of course you can avoid this bug. Split large stacks by slider bar, not moving them.

Hi All, new comer here

I just installed WoG and found that during combat stage, all creatures are moving at a incredible speed while the option only allows me to change the creatures attack speed. That makes my skeleton troop move at lighting speed but swing like a snail. I don't know if this has been raised by someone else but this certainly does not look good :/

Any solution for this? Other than this, WoG is simply marvelous and really appreciate the effort to people contributed.
