Israel was HORRIBLE and it still went through? I can't remember I ever heard anyone hitting so many false notes in one song - save maybe for Britney Spears before she went completely playback. Yuck!
Didn't think Sweden's song was that good, tbh. My bf liked it a lot, but I thought it was dull. But then, I didn't like most of the songs that went through.
I felt Denmark had a good entry this year, so it was kind of shocking when 9 songs were called and we were not yet through.

So... missed most of it Anyway some good songs in. I can say don't like Sweden and Germany that much, for the bulgarian song - he ruined it turning half of it in English imo. Ireland wasn't bad.
Now...
... what if the winner is Belarus

I just noticed my usual favorite Croatia did not go to the finale but their live performance was poor.
The finale will be empty and I do not know if I will watch (there is a 99% chance that I will just because).
I guess my favorite is Ireland (but I still like Albania better) then but but but butt but but but I always have a tradition where I judge all the entries in the finale myself and give them points (my mum does it too).
I set points 2 4 6 8 10 and 12 in SAS (lol, I had too) - "Show, Aura, Song" (that the singer feels home on the stage etc)".
In swedish Melodifestivalen I also set a "Chance in ESC" score and I can already tell you Anna got like a 6 or something out of 12.
And then I will vote on the person that got the highest points.
I will also start to document my scores since I do not remember how I voted on last year.

LIKE A SATELLITE!
I did not vote for Germany, my own judge system gave Turkey 30 out of 36 points (though I liked Serbia the most).
But Lena was adoreable and really deserved to win. Even though my favorite didn't I was very happpy for her.
And Sweden missed the finale by 5 points.
If HCed had voted we would have been in the finale.
Curse you!

lol ... Yes, Israel had the epicly worst entry.
For a brief moment when voting started, I thought Denmark would win. 24 points from first 2 countries ... but then, nothing. But 4th place was pretty good.
Apparantly, I was in the minority of people who liked Norway's song. France was great also, but Germany's was also good, and I did expect it to win. Some REALLY bad songs made it through from the first semi-final, however.

I almost died laughing when Lena, after preforming her second entry, yelled at "DAS IST WAHNSINNIG *points at audience* SIE SIND VERRÜCKT!!!" the Audience. She Obvo didn't expect to win, and it was nearly as if she thought someone else should have won. So real and fierce <3
Live-preformance of Germany was kindy crowy and honky, but her RADIO-preformance was outstanding. Haters, beware, LENA WILL DOMINATE THE RADIO FOR APPROX TWO MONTHS TO PWN THE snow OUT OF THE HATERZ!!! lolpwnt.
I'm also very satisfied with the Belgian result. Last time we were such a contender was in 2003 (where we were robbed of our Rightfull win by that Turkish Belly-Dancing Biatch)
Russia was not the worst entry. it was incredibly sucky, but how can we forget the disastrous trainwreck that is UNITED KINGDOM. Worst. song. ever.
I'm glad with this Final, regardless of the high amount of robbage in the Semis. It was an excellent edition of the song-contest, and Germany's win makes it very clear that the days of eastern-european/gimmick wins (2001-2008) have finally ended

True, but boy was there some countries voted high up based only on their relationships with neighbouring countries. It's so boring and predictable when Greece/Cyprus ALWAYS give each other 12 points, Serbia/Bosnia&Herzegovina likewise, etc.

At Eurovision all countries give the points totheir neighbors or people that they know they are close relatives.Germany won thanks to its geographical position,Romania got its place by its own deserve while Turkey and Belgium that got good positions, well,I didn't liked them.I have short reviews for some songs there, some points distributions and the rankings:
1)Russia-12 points;russian song was more like an opera with a very exellent relaxing music that somehow reminds me the XIX-XX century operas. However its music(combined with the text) thow not modern was very good.Personaly I liked that.
2)Romania-10 points;very powerful music,very very good.
3)Greece-8 points; It looked like a tavern song wich made it good.
4)Spain-7 points;very lively song.
5)Armenia-very nice song.
6)Georgia-nice but why the singer got angry?
7)Azerbajan-good.
8)Dennmark-powerful song.Maybe too powerful?
9)Albania-good,powerful song.
10)Germany-It is a translated song with all I care.In german should be very nice but in english it isn't good.

The not-so-likely explanation. Germany is one of the countries that has participated the most times, yet this is only the second time they win. I think Germany won because they actually had a very strong song - it was unique and catchy without being too camp.
