As for openness, I was thinking about stuff like releasing all the video footage available instead of only selected cuts. Somebody's bound to start guessing what was on the rest of the tapes when you act like that.
As for neutral third parties - maybe EU?

The difference between America (or Russia or China or another such power) and the EU interfering is that America, Russia or China at least get something done, for better or worse.

That is so true. Atleast with China.
When China plans something, it actually happens and it happens fast. It does not take a 100 years (if not more) to get things done like in the western world.
I just had to express my love for one of my favorite countries in the world atm.

Point taken. Yes, presenting those videos would probably be a good move. Hopefully, they will be revealed in one way or another during the investigation.
As for EU being neutral... I don't know the real dynamics in EU, but I don't think it is a neutral body. It's a coalition of different countries some of which are friendly with Israels and some of which are hostile. That alone will affect the decisions made by it or its representatives.

Actually, they used knives, iron clubs, and then guns. They are the ones who initiated the attack and only after they begin to fire guns did Isreali soldiers fire their weapons. The soldiers had ihnitially used paintball guns when the terrorists were using knives and iron clubs.

There's no such things as the 'right' to board other peoples property. Just because those with power thinks it's okay, and therefore makes laws and gives rights, does not mean it's acceptable in the eyes of those who gets coerced. The law could just as well say it's okay to violate me, I'd still not find it okay, and would not accept it to be right, because it's law, and because it has support through power, no matter what defines that power, if it's many or few.

Gona be interesting if EU take sides, but if it takes the one of Israel (if the big states do it, all smalls are with them), the interesting part is that Turkey want to get in the EU, and if it doesn't support them what happend:
- Turkey break their reviews for joining the Union;
- Turkey agree with the EU and do... nothing and leave the lifes of it's citizens, wich is not something the folk there is going to like;
I don't think the first one is going to happen.

the facts still stand...
9 dead activists.
0 dead soldiers.
if the soldiers had handled it professionally, then there would be no death. however, they were sent it with live rounds, so now we have 9 innocent lives gone.
As far as I can see, Isreal has just been tormenting and teasing all the other countries in the region. if anyone watch eurovision a while back will remember "Push the button", hinting at Iran an it's "Satanic leader" attempting to wipe the country out with nuclear weapons (the same ones sadam had, HAH!)
my advice to the yanks, for what it's worth, cut all ties to the country, and get the f**k out of there. the longer you are associated with that government, the worse it's going to be for you internationally.

Would you be satisfies if the 'score' was even? 9-9? Don't get me wrong, I too think Israel could have handled things better. But when I say better, I don't mean not giving soldiers live ammo, I mean not even letting the people aboard the ship the opportunity to attack in the first place.

Naturally no one desires to see dead israeli soldiers. But having a 0-9 score while they affirm the "terrorist" took their guns and shot them back is looking, I have to admit, very suspicious. It just does not make sense, or it makes too much sense, anyone choose.

Geny, the soldiers were boarding vessels carrying f**king school equipment, with live ammo, with, I can only assume judging by their actions, orders to kill resistance.
The situation could have been handled alot better. Not boarding would be one. if they sent a diplomat to inspect it for any potential weaponary, I would be fine with that. Hey, not have the blockade there would be good whilst I'm at it. Possible for america to not be so far up Isreal's rectum!!!

Alright then, let me tell you something. A friend of mine is studying medicine right now. As such she frequents the nearby hospital a lot. a few weeks back when we were out she told me how she and her friends went to visit some of the soldiers that were hospitalized there after the incident at "Marmara". What they saw were parents who wouldn't stop crying over their children some of whom were still in a very bad condition. The girl is not one to get easily emotional and I'm even less so, but I felt sad for the soldiers and their parents just by looking at her face when she remembered what she saw. Still think it's suspicious?
