@moonshademoon: you have me to blame for that faction. the gear TENDERS are a bunch of technophiles who have built a great machine in order to trap, imprison and destroy the arch demons before the return to the world. sort of like Adeptus Mechanicus from the warhammer universe, a bizarre mix of steam-punk, religious zealotry and arcane lore.

the machine, however, is powered by human organs, leading the gear TENDERS into killing innocent people in order to get their goals accompished. Also, would you seriously trust a man who has hammered rivets into his face, walking towards you with a huge, rather painful looking piece of surgical equipment, saying "leave the flesh, and become one with the machine!"

@bixie: got you wrong then, thoguht  the gear gridners followed an archdemon. But are nice, anyway

@moonshadow:
The Mirror world is kind of a parallel dimension of ours, but ... well mirrored. Aeons ago, one of the archdmons set foot in it. Also this one, too, is banned for long, yet there, his influence has allready twisted the mirror world. And it has allways been a mysterious world. Ways are quite different there than they are here, as well as beings. The mirror worlders who follow "their" archdemon, and those are the vast majority, try to find a way into our world and set free the archdemon. Still questions? Ah and of course the gates between there world and ours are mirrors.

For your faction summary:

Quote:
Humans/"good":

- The Order (evil hunters and priests backed by actual Saints and Angels)
- The Watchmen (wizards and their magical creations)
- The Battalion (ordinary human soldiers and war machines- their ultimate creature is the Gattling Gun)

Neutral:

Voodoo People (primitive folk worshipping spirits of Voodoo, fight the Archdemons but also practice cannibalism and their own dark magic)
The Fey (a fragile alliance between the Seelie- light and Unseelie- darkness- Courts, united against the Archdemons but otherwise view the humans as playthings)

Undead/evil:

The Necromancers (undead made of flesh and bone, following the Archdemon of Undeath)
The Vampires (follow the Archdemon of Hunger)
The Hollow (various Ghosts, manipulated by the Archdemon of Loss)

Cults/evil:

Nephilim (the beautiful and terrible descendants of Fallen Angels and humans, and their Demonic masters, following the Archdemon of Light)
Blood Legion (more barbaric and bloodthirsty demons, follow the Archdemon of Slaughter)
Plaguebringers (diseased men, animals and hideous demons, follow the Archdemon of Disease)
Black Order (corrupted mages, manipulated by the Archdemon of Secrets)
Wild Ones (lycanthropes, beastmen and bestial demons, follow the Archdemon of the Moon)
Crazies (madmen and hideous creatures following the Archdemon of Madness)
Dreamstalkers (twisted dream creatures following the Archdemon of Nightmares)
Mirror Worlders (strange creatures following the Archdemon of Mirrors)

The Order is quite good summoned into one sentence. Also they are STRONG believers!!! btw, someone suggested templar as an evil unit short ago, yet templar is a high tier Order unit.
The Watchmen are not REALLY good, yet they want to preserve earth and mankind on the whole.
For Battallion: ORdinary humans have no real scenario faction in my plans. Theay have NOT AT ALL the power to have units of tier 5 or 6, as I see it...and there has not been time to invent the gatling or machine gun. (Gear grinders, though, have done so (and they've also invented a flamethrower, I guess^^) ...this whole concept has as one basic idea that ordinary humans aren't quite capable of battling the archdemons.
...I planned, however, that you have to  play humans in the last, and, exactly out of THAT reason, EXTREMELY difficult campaign, since you have to fight the last archdemon with only the low/mid tier human soldiers and little backoff by underland, watchmen & order

Not sure 'bout voodoo people.
and not sure 'bout fey.
Also you forget underland (and here's the fey problem: fey seem to be elven faction. I had the Elves goe exile underground with the gnomes/dwarves.)

I don't think undead need seperation from other archdemons. And in this setting, these 3 types of "undead" are QUITE different! (and only the necromancers have only truly undead units)

I like your vision of the archdemon of loss. Archdemon of Hunger may be a description for the vampire lord.
Plaguebringers description ok
Black Order good
The Wild ONes' Archdemon ain't taht of teh moon - but that of Lust.
Blood Legion follows Kronos the titan, yet archdemon of slaughter is a fitting name.
Calling lucifer the archdemmon of light is strangely enough accurate the name means: "Who holds the light"
mirror worlders...archdemon of mystery/Change/Reversion

Think to avoid similarity with order, Black Order shall become Black Circle.

Archdemons we have now:
-Chtulu - ? - ?
-Thaar - Hunger/Eternal Night - Vampires
-Mordred - Undeath - Necromancers
-Inrha - Mystery/Change - Mirror World
-Zhuul - Mind&Nightmares - Dreamstalkers
-Lykros - Lust - Wild Ones
-Phylexis - Secrets - Black Circle
-Kronos - Destruction/Slaughter - Blood Legion
-Crechtan? - Disease - Plaguebringers
-Lucifer - Light&Betrayal - Nephilim
-? - Loss - Hollow
-? - Madness - Crazy
-?

So we need 2 more names, one more concept and a faction for Chtulu...or shall he be without faction.

For concept:
You all seemed to have quite a different view of plaguebringers - a swamp faction style, where myne is more sewers, deserted towns, etc. style. A wildish one where myne is half-technological. A more animalic one.
Maybe another swamp faction could be done...yet what archdemon should they follow? OR they could be these voodoo people...

I think Cthulhu works better for Plaguebringers. And why you don't use names from "real world",well know mythology.Cthulhu is known, from King in yellow.

If you don't like Cthulhu for plaguebringers,I consult wiki for great and old ones

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Old_One

And new creatures/archedemons for mirror worlders/dreamstalkers

Azathoth

I wonder about this:
The Chorazos Cult is a sect dedicated to the Outer God Yog-Sothoth. The cult was founded in the mountains of Romania in the late 16th century, but later moved to England and then Scotland. The cult developed an unwholesome reputation and was eventually disbanded by locals. The cult returned in modern times, at least superficially based in the United States and attempting to awaken Yog-Sothoth.

Because I like thinking of own names...also I DID so, where I found it fitting: Lucifer, Mordred, Kronos, are from mythology - originally no archdemon but taht's freedom of the artist

OK, some more...

Here's my line-ups for the Plaguebringers.

The Plaguebringers are a collection of of hideous, deformed and diseased creatures, both mortal, monstrous and Demonic, who follow Crechtan- the Archdemon of Disease. Driven mad by eternal pain, they believe in the destruction of all beauty and the culling of the weak from the strong through plague- until all that remains on this Earth are blighted, hideous and insane beings whose sole survival depends on their belief in Crechtan. Hero will be Blighter.

1. Leper - Wretched / Rotten- the foot soldiers of the Great Plague, humanity's poor promised rich and eternal life when the old order crumbles in the Plague as long as they help spread it.
2. Dire Rat - Rat-thing / Cerberus Rat- once normal rats grown huge and bloated on the flesh of disease victims. Rat-things are humanoid, while Cerebrus Rats have 3 heads.
3. Blight Soldier - Sick Doctor / Blight Commando- former soldiers mutated by viral agents, taller and stronger than ordinary humans. Their hideous faces are hidden by gas masks, and they throw grenade-like globes of disease.
4. Maggot Priest - Scarab Priest / Locust Priest- hideous followers of Crechtan who carry disease-spreading insects in their bodies.
5. Pale Worm - Plague Worm / Death Moth- massive, mutated insects.
6. Afflictor - Hideous / Abomination- huge and powerful Demons who are the incarnation of disease. Have black maggots crawling over their skins and huge goat horns.

And I think Ctulhu should be Archdemon of Madness.

I don't envision The Watchmen as wizards. It doesn't sound like a name for them. Maybe if we changed the name, and had this description?

"The greedy wizards live in the sprawling mansions, their whim obeyed by thousands of servants. They can summon elementals with a snap of their fingers, but even they quail before the might of the arch-demons.
Knowing that their pursuit for knowledge would end if the arch-demons came, they join The Order in an attempt to stop them."

So, perhaps have a name like The Scholars?

Also, can I work on the Nephilim line-up?

Yes, are they the wizards at all? That description fits wizards. However, I don't envision the wizards having the name The Watchmen. Could you give me the basic line-up of The Watchmen so I get a clearer picture of them?

The Watchmen:
A secret mage circle that is not devoted to heaven, but allways knew of the Powers of Evil and strives to protect the Earth for their own reasons. They are not really good - but compared to the Archdemons, they are playful and friendly.

...this was the basic description of the watchmen...

...basically, they are mages, but you must remember: We are not in a high-fantasy world, but on Earth. Humans do not possess much magical power, usually. And those who originally taught it, are extinguished (as Atlantis, in this Earth) or have gone into exile (Elves, etc.). So thos ewith the gift are rare. The Watchmen are a Union of Magical Circles with the goal to protect menkind from dangers which the ordinary human does not even know of. Besides the few talented spellcasters and some better adepts, they use golems/gargoyles, maybe magical spirits or one-two ally-creatures. Their mages are good in telecinetics, mind-magic, arcane basics, transformation & Illusion. If they possess elemental power, it's most likely fire and wind.

In opposition to that, the Underlanders are great at earth magic, good in all other elements & also good in nature & death-matter transformation.

And the black circle favours mind magic, direct pain-infliction, and energy, wind and ice element.
